Are there any solo guides?

So I've been told that if I want to try solo-ing in 0.0 (just so I can try and see what pvp is like) then I could take a Taranis and go for a joy ride through 0.0 with it. But are there any guides for something like that that I can read through to be more prepared?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Garmon/El'Tar/Count MonteCristo's solo Taranis guide is quoted by many to be pretty good.

I did see that guide, but it's from 2009 and the poster sounds like he doesn't really know what he's talking about. That's why I asked for a reliable guide here.

The guy who wrote that guide is legendary and the guide should still be more than good enough for you, since not much has changed with the Taranis (except blasters are better)

You are right; I'm so sorry. Those things are super important when shooting at people in an internet spaceship video game and I can see how a persons only slightly incorrect use of English would cause you to conclude that they dont know what they are talking about.

Go forth with your higher grasp of language and don't bother reading guides, you will do fine I'm sure.

It's overly critical (and incredibly dim witted) comments like yours that cause people not to bother providing guides for the community in the first place. Way to go shooting yourself in the foot with your snobby attitude.

Solo recipe (stolen from Epicurious.com):

Multibox:
1) 2 perfect off-grid booster boat pilots
2) 2 Falcon pilots
3) At least 1 Logi V pilot
4) Any decent damage producing ship.

Bake in any null sec system until K/D ratio is bright and shiny. For best results use sub-optimal ships to increase reputation even further. Remember style counts.

The level of stupidity is getting startlingly high. Lady Spank is right, Garmon's guide is pretty much the defacto manual for nullsec Taranis/blaster frigate combat.

My own little effort focusses more on Rifters and low security space but a lot of the tactics discussed are relevant to null sec as well: http://www.rifterdrifter.com/rifter-pvp-guide.

And the Failheap Challenge thread linked above is an excellent place to get inspiration.

Watch videos by Garmon (well, Garmonation 7a at least), Zach Donnell, and - of course - Prometheus Exenthal to get a good idea of how to solo.

My point is not that the author is/was incorrect, rather it is/was about the irony of having someone go through all the trouble to actually write down all their knowledge/experience with such horrible language skills that it is just not worth deciphering or even worth taking seriously for people.

If there was a sandscrit document somewhere that detailed how to actually, for real, 100% turn lead into gold, proven over and over, would it be worth learning a dead language to decipher?

actually there isn't.

And studies have shown that spelling is actually pretty unimportant in communication within a given language, first and last letter and all that.
