PLEX prices are out of control

I don't have a theory, no solution, but commenting that it's bad (instead of slapping people around for observing the same) isn't an attack on CCP or anyone in particular. Still needs to be addressed, and losing Eggy is a bit of a worry. Nobody came out after he left and assured us an economist was keeping an eye, and things seem to be spiralling since then, so Sad

There are PLEX at Jita right now for a bit over 770 mill and at least 30 Jita PLEX under 785 mill which is more than 100 mill down on PLEX prices two weeks ago. PLEX are dropping.





I find it VERY suspicious that every time PLEX prices DROP a bit we get a heap of these "OMG look PLEX will hit a billion this week" threads :D



Are out of game attempts to manipulate ingame PLEX pricing upwards by spreading misinformation (like this thread does) actually OK according to the EULA ????

I know a fix, ccp should just remove plex. all fixed.

for the 1000000000000000000000th time, if you want plex prices to fall, buy a bunch and undercut the other sellers. Simple. CCP needs to do nothing. Thats the point. its player controlled. you want then cheaper? flood the market. Don;t have the money? oh well. Go find a CC and pay the $11 a month (when you pay for 6 months)

One would hope, but here in MURICA economics isn't even a required course for most high school students. Nor is any kind of financial planning.

It's really not a surprise no one here understands even basic econ. Can't speak for any other countries, of course. Ugh

its not a crash if they go down less then they went up in the first place. call back when they....reach 600 for a change...or better yet, 500. That would be called a "crash".

Plex are out of control and will stay so as longs its the most valuable/low risk long term investment. If everything fails, in 10 years its still gametime/rl money.

CCP has a plex sale -> "OMG GUYS THE BUBBLE IS BREAKING"

Meanwhile those who hold stock maintain because they're not foolish and can read basic price graphs. Most notably the fact that drops like this and greater have happened before and are not indicative of any long-term trend - the long-term trend itself is plain to see.

There are always going to be people who moan about the price of PLEX, if the price is high then people buying PLEX to extend game time are going to cry. If the PLEX price goes down then people who buy PLEX, people who save PLEX and CCP in general are going to cry. The Price drops too low and people stop subbing their accounts with monehs and start using PLEX because it is more affordable, and CCP cry some more.
At the end of the day, PLEX has always been rising in price, it is part of the game, deal with it, or move on.
As for being 'out of control', I wouldn't say so, it doesn't take a marketing expert to tell you what direction PLEX is going in, and when the price is going to be low. PLEX isn't a car you drive and steer and control the speed of. PLEX is more like a bus, you just have to go with it, and if you're smart enough you'll see the bus stops, and the speed limits, you'll know when it picks up and when it drops off.

More people living in null and wormholes and generating large amounts of isk with either little risk (null) or very little time invested (WH space). This allows more people to finance their accounts with said isk.
