I'm just wondering if you can set the used colors for Red / Blue and Green in the local window and the overview window. Since I'm colorblind I have difficulties seeing the difference between the red and the green (hostile, same corp?) icons.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you the worst person?

I think you might be.

OP You can change overview colours yes but you'll have to hang in longer for someone with the willpower to actually explain the nightmare that is overview settings to you.

Yes.
Topleft of the overview is an options button.

Open Overview settings in space. (I don't know the shortcut for that to do it in station)

Check the tabs.

Yes, in overview settings you can change the colors. There are a variety of choices. Hopefully a few of them will work for you.

Just right click the little 3-bar thingy in the upper left of the overview window and select "open overview settings".

Can you set them for local as well?

By the way, 3 good awnsers within one minute and only one idiot. Not bad for GD. Thanx people.

I am fairly certain that the only way to set colors in local is by adding the toon name, corp, or alliance to your contacts with whatever standing you choose.

I really want CCP to change this feature. Possibly with the next "The Little Things" addition.

It would be very awesome for an option to add your overview color settings to the Local chat toon list.

The colours in local (where applicable, not all tags are displayed there) are the same as in overview Colortags. The Overview setting tab is Appearance, and offers separate settings for the small Colortag and overview row Background. There are some cases where different settings background and colortags are quite useful, like displaying suspect status for fleet members.

While you are there, check the order of the stuff States-subtab in Filters tab. You can dragndrop them around, and you should do it with your brains fully operational. If several states apply to a pilot, the order of things here dictates which one of them is actually displayed.

Note for CCP: it would be great to get more colours in these dialogs. Likewise for contacts.

Going by memory, both local and overview can be set to show: standings, corp/alliance/militia member, fleet member, war/fw target, suspect/criminal, limited engagement, killright available.

Only overview will show negative sec status or outlaw (-5 and below) status, for some strange reason.

OP, you can also freely set flashy/not flashy for any of the above.

EDIT: you can even have different colors on your overview for colortags (the ones that also show in local) and background color (exclusive to overview). This could perhaps help, too. I use the background mostly for crimewatch (can / cannot engage without getting gate guns) and the colortag for standings and such (should / should not engage... based on mood Twisted).

Yes, when you change color tags it changes for the overview, local & other chat windows, & all other places in the client where standings icons are used.

For colorblind people there's unfortunately a pretty limited list of colors, so you'll have to play around with it a bit to find something that works -- probably fold multiple states into the same color because there won't be enough to go around.

OP I know how you feel. i too have problems with red and greed. If they are the same hue, or brightness they tend to blend together. The worst is when red and green switch. Although seeing red grass and trees is interesting.
