Too soon to tell about the aggregate impact of the revisions to Industry--but the new UI seems to be a substantial step forward. Thanks for that.

the UI im still wrapping my head around as its really just plain simple alittle bit too much taking in all at once. where I was once able to see which jobs are running and where has now turned into sorting and figuring out whats exactly going on.

the bidding on teams reminds me instantly of a RMAH auction house type of mechanic and that in itself is a gut punch although its not involving real money.. makes me think they played D3 and came up with the idea lol

one big side note is from the UI there is no PI tab where I can simply click on to view my planets now I have to click on the PI from dock and I cant even save it on my toolbar.. unless someone shows me exactly how to.

wow its click fest 2014.

Should be fewer clicks overall. If there aren't haha UI designer screwed up (though might not have been a requirement). I played with it on SiSi and it's OK once you get used to it. PI has a seperate button now ofc.

There's a new PI button in the business submenu that you can drag to the neocom.

Not sold on the UI yet, that giant Install Blueprint section should be minimizable, feels like a lot of wasted space when you're just looking at the jobs and blueprints sections (which can be minimized, even though its arguably what you'll be using the most).

many thanks to you Skurja.

thank you for pointing that out for me.. lol

another thing im noticing its actually taking longer to spit out a frigate as I remove the sleep from my eyes It used to take me 8 mins to roll out a frigate.. now its taking me 41 mins and Im darn sure im max'd skilled in ME and all the other junk.. running off a ME 10 and looks like a high TE.

not too sure gonna splash some water on my head to work on this today.

The new industry window is awul. It's so huge that it takes up most of the screen. Yes I know people will say to just get a bigger monitor but that's just normal Eve arrogance.

Then most of the window is taken up with a circle with a blue flashing thing. Does it really have to flash? Then there's only space for two lines at the bottom, with so much crammed into it. Is it really necessary to have a separate column for things like the security level of the system where the research is?

You click on a job to Deliver and there's more flashing animation (must they?) but nothing actually changes. It still sits there saying Deliver. The only difference is that if you click on it, thinking that the previous one must have been a misclick, it tells you that you can't deliver it because it's already delivered. So why is it still there?

The blueprints are all tiny, in a list with so much information that it's just a mess of writing, and all in that awful narrow font that can't be changed. Then instead of simple lists of materials and requirements, there are more flashy things (they're really determined to shove those in everywhere) with orange lines and boxes appearing in the huge empty 80% of the window.

It's not enough that the devs poke fun at us by making useless all the work put into training skills to improve things by 25% that's now only worth 10%, and gain standings that are now meaningless, they still find it necessary to inflict this ugly, flashy window on us, instead of just keeping things simple and easy to read.

And the sound, oh god the sound it creates every time you click a line, window, tab and so on.

How do I minimize the giant empty space so I can see my blueprints crammed in at the bottom of the screen?

That was one of my feedback complaints when it was on SiSi. Several people had the same feedback complaint.

Not only is half the space taken up by that but they also made some things harder for people who do a lot of industry.

1. They seem to have removed the ability to sort bps based on category, like all combat drones being together on the list, or all the rigs grouped together.

2. I can't seem to find how to only view my jobs installed for the corp, and for this even filter box does't help. Instead I have to sort by installer to group mine together and then i cannot sort by other criteria. When you get 18-20 jobs installed on a character that just wastes all the time you just saved clicking less trying to figure out what you have going on and not another corp member.

3. Input and Output no longer default to the location of the print you are using. It is saved from one bp to another that is the same but no way to set a default I have found yet.

4. The new system cost index is only a quantifiable number when using the start map. Why!?!?!?! Let me see the rate instead of just a bar, especially when most high sec systems that have stations with lines seem to be all full bar, but that can mean 0.08 or 0.03 it seems.

I do appreciate the not needing to click my mouse for 10 minutes to set up some invention jobs but instead that time is spent looking up the name of the part i want to make and then using the filter box to find it after spending 5 minutes trying to figure out what jobs I already had going as opposed to another member of the corp.

That was another request of mine.

Of course, did you go to SiSi and provide feedback too? Many didn't.

Nothing changed here.

This was a requested feature.

Ya, I hate that too.

My second point you could do before. There was an option in a drop down when viewing jobs to only display jobs you installed for the corp, and you could then filter by other columns.

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to test the GUI on SiSi even though I did intend to and would have liked to try to give feedback, however I did just write this to try to get it all out before i get too frustrated with it.

The UI is a major step forward and is a joy to use compared to the old click fest. But why lord does it have to be so big! I'm currently away from home and using my laptop (1366x768) and have made the industry UI as small as I can and it still takes up a good proportion of the client window. The top half of the industry UI also seems to be disproportional to the bottom, I can't see whats going on with the jobs I'm running because of the blueprint focus on top. The top half also has a large amount of space not being used and can't be scaled to allow more of the bottom where the blueprints/facilities/jobs/teams are located to see what is available/running. Hopefully I'm not the only one that has noticed and CCP might do something about it.

your not the only one

Will CCP do something though... Not likely. We waited so long for changes, and they gave us this.

We certainly could have used some removal of clicks, but this is crazy. I liked the old lists of materials. Simple, easy to read, and not the size of a football field.

+1

It's a winner as long as CCP listens to the user feedback and provides an option to shrink the top portion of the display and makes a few other suggested improvements.

Shrinking the top part so that there's room for more than two lines at the bottom would be a good start.

Then on the Facilities tab, a mouseover of that little red line should show the percentage. Unbelievable that the new popups block out so much to show obvious or useless information but in a place where it's needed, there isn't one. Having to use a third party application to find the percentage is just silly.
