Warning: The audio file linked in this post contains a smattering of profanity, for the sole purpose of illustration. If you are easily offended by (for example) expressions relating to the act of fellatio, or the use of words like '****', you might find it useful to stop and start playback in a manner which avoids audition of such terms.

The Code IV

“Without rules, there is no such thing as freedom. By enforcing a system of just laws, I give the miners liberation from their own worst instincts. And through this process, the miners can be molded into better people, the kind worthy of joining the new community of EVE.” - James 315, The Code.

Rules govern our lives both in and out of Eve. We are free to adopt or to reject them. But our decisions have consequences...

Thanks to James 315 and the good folks over at MinerBumping.com for their continued support. Thanks also to the C&P Crew for making the effort to listen to the stuff I've been putting out. It matters.

In this episode you'll meet my Wife, though in a manner not of her choosing; also, The Right Honourable, The Mittani..

The Code - Complete Recording

The New Halaima Code of Conduct

Intrepid Capsuleers,

A complete recording of The New Halaima Code of Conduct has been uploaded to SoundCloud.

James 315 has granted special permission for the work to be recorded and broadcast, so I hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity to hear The Code 'live', as it were.

I'm appending this announcement to the existing thread, following helpful advice from ISD Dorrim Barstorlode (many thanks!).

The New Halaima Code of Conduct

All Hail James 315, Supreme Protector, Saviour of Highsec, Father of the New Order.

Heh, love these.

You *really* need to do a dramatic reading of James' infamous Manifestos.

We gank empty freighters for fun, theres not a procurer under the stars that can save you without a permit

You should rethink your outlook on it and purchase a permit

I started to listen to it, but all I got was "Blah, Blah, Blah, James420, Really, we are cool, just make sure you dont notice my mom is yelling at me in the background (Im planning on moving out of the basement soon.....like next year I think), Give us isk or we will hold our breath til we pass out at the keyboards....."

Really, keep up your empire mining games, it just makes my nullsec ore that much more valuable. In a perfect world, you actually kill off highsec industry, until the devs change the mechanics and you all become huge tear-fountains since your game is not valid anymore.

But seriously, has anyone noticed the massive number of posts for miners/industry in the corp recruitment for null sec?

Are the Code-morons actually having a real effect on hs mining and industry?

Wrong forum. This is CnP as in Crime and Punishment. The Intergalactic Summit is where you want to be.

Hi Xenuria,

I'm mindful of your greater experience on this sub-Forum than mine - so I'll tread carefully.

I've looked once or twice at 'Intergalactic Summit', and have always been put off by the 'Absolutely no out of character (OOC) comments or references are allowed.' This drastically limits the range of possible content for an organisation like the New Order. In my mind, a fatal restriction.

The content of much of that sub-Forum seems to be based around the sensibilities of Eve's four Races. As such, it is an unlikely home for an organisation which has members and supporters not only from all four of those Races, but also from Corps and Alliances across New Eden.

The growing irrelevance of race to most Eve players has I think been noted elsewhere. That's not to insult our role-playing afficionados; they too add spice to the game!

There is something else. To the non-compliant Miner in his Barge, the lone Catalyst appears out of the blue, locks him, scrams him, and he explodes in a hail of anti-matter. It's all rather sudden. Yet we all know (or should) the necessary preparation for a successful gank. It only appears to be sudden to the Miner.

In the same way, the New Order (the entity, not the name) didn't suddenly materialise somewhere in Highsec. It had its antecedents in the writings of James 315. His views about the putative Highsec risk/reward imbalance and his known opposition to botting and to the concept of Eve as a single-player Theme Park, are quite well-known.

None of this arises from role-playing; it is solidly based on years of analytical experience of the game as a whole. He happens to be Caldari, I think, but he can't help it.

To some extent, we are all role-playing from the moment we log in to Eve Online. Few of us are pilots in real life, let alone space pilots.

I've nothing against role-playing in this game; it simply isn't for me. I'm persuaded by James 315's stated views and objectives, and nothing else.

Odd question for the Code followers... What are your views on mission miners and what actions, if any, do you take against such?

You don't really.... do sarcasm or tongue-in-cheek humor / parody very well, do you?

There are some studies out there that actually link overall level of intelligence with the ability to recognize humor. Perhaps jokes that simply focus on bodily functions are a little more on your level?

Oh, and calling other players "morons" due to them not playing EVE in the same way you play EVE is rude, offensive, and has no part in this community. Grow up.

They should have a permit. After all, most of the loot in missions ends up melted down for minerals, and that sure sounds like industry to me. Really, if you are going to operate in high-sec - it's just a good idea to have a permit and give a friendly wave in local to any CODE agents that may be passing through.

They should have permits.

We have a number of enforcers that are not -10 sec status for exactly these people (-10s cannot get someone behind an acceleration gate if they are more than 7-8km off the landing spot of a gate, at least not in Catalysts).
