If thats true then im surprised ishtars are popular for sov fights.

Ppl defending the ishtar in 'the ishtar is OP' threads say that ishtars are paper thin in tank and gallente arent known for their small sigs.

There cant be many a more perfect target for bombs than ishtar blobs, but they are still widely used.

A: Amazing at blapping dictors. Very hard to get a good set of dictor bubble on them long enough to get a bomb wave thrown.

B: Speedy little bastards. If moving then they are very very hard to actually hit with bombs, much less multiple bomb waves coordinated from different directions.

Ordinary BC's and cruisers though tend to be just as flimsy as a kiting Ishtar, yet far less agile, slower, far easier to pin down with dictors, and lacking t2 resists, tend to violently explode with a single wave of bombs.

Dessies ofc tend to die when you look crosseyed at them, especially when you start mixing 30km aoe weapons and MWDing dessies. Only got to land 1-2 bombs..

That's because ordinary battlecruisers are, for large fleet fights, really bad.

They have a bloated sig radius that is not compensated for in either tank, dps, or damage projection. In general they do not scale well into large numbers.

One of ours, ten of theirs.

Best Meltdown Ever.

What about the people not defending the ishtar in 'the ishtar is OP' threads

i can guess why they think ishtars are so widely used despite being such an apparently tasty target for bombs.

I think bombers a fie as they are...

The only unbalance is IsBoxed group of bombers managed by only one player.
I say ban ISBoxer Big smile to fix your issue...

I say nerf bombs so that you need a few more of them to achieve the same results you do currently. A squad of ISBoxer bombers is less effective than a squad of experienced player-controlled bombers (it is very easy to miss click or have ISBoxer not transmit a command properly), so the issue is not ISBoxer. The issue is that a relatively small number of bombers can inflict disproportionate damage. If you had to use twice as many bombs to achieve the same result, ISBoxer bomber squads would be less prevalent, but bombers could still be an effective anti-blob weapon.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Bombers are one of the few items in the game that allows a small group to actually give a larger group some pause. Leave current bombers as they are and give us tech II bombs or a larger bomber and let us go after capitals.
