For example of an expected reply:

- FULL ISK returned
- useless skill points returned to the pool
- Characters docked high sec
- Security status bumped up to -1.9 (if under)

Anything else you would need?

None of these. But the ability to dock it in order to right click -> Reprocess would be keen.

For those of you that don't keep up with TMC, I'm pretty sure that the OP was indirectly referring to this article.

It would be really interesting if CCP removed the ability to make supers, thus making them an irreplaceable commodity in the game. I'd better start saving!

Even if there were no Supers or Titans and just carrier and dreads, who other then current powers could withstand hundreds of carriers + dreads + support?

All that would happen is that if you removed Supers and Titans is that in a few months you will crying that Carriers and Dreads should be removed because its not fair that a group can field hundreds at a time, will have hundreds more in reserve and will be be able to replace any loses in days.

The issue is not Supers and Titans but the simple fact that in Eve as in most things numbers is one of the most important factors in any fight.

Supercaps are what hold the mega alliances together, because with a relatively small number of pilots they can project insane amounts of force. Fielding 300 carriers may be impressive, but it's also a lot easier to match than trying to compete with a serious supercap fleet. You'd see far more null sec wars breaking out and coalitions crumbling if supercaps were gone.

CCP would not return any useless skill points to the pool, they'd just claim they were "renaming" the supercapital-specific skills and suddenly you'd have a lot of skillpoints that did something meaningless to your playstyle.

While I am not a capital pilot, I did spend some time in Null-sec, and I did notice that it seemed rather.. stagnant. It seems like there are only 2 or 3 big alliances or at least 3 groups that aren't blue to one another. If you are blue to one, you can fly around all day, dozens of jumps, doing whatever and almost never even see anyone in the systems you are flying through. Everyone seems to hang out in their little care-bear pockets or use titans to jump to PVP along the border.. While I have no stance particularly about the supers, anything that CCP could do to shake it all up and break it down into a mass of crazy people murdering one-another would be ideal in my opinion. Mega-corps/alliances are what's breaking the economy and peoples lives in real life.. seems that way in EVE as well.

If nothing else, it can't hurt to try, especially with an idea like this, where ever the major blocs agree that the ships in question are problematic (and they are the ones with the most to lose from super nerfs or removal).
However, we will always have the dissenting voices who swear that supers are the only thing that let the little guy even scratch the blocs' paintjobs. Then, the same people turn around and complain that the blocs' power projection ruins the game.
It would appear to me that their arguments are based less on what would improve things, and more on "just take PL's titans, but let us keep ours."
One of the better suggestions was to put some kind of massive upkeep cost on supers and titans. The only problem there, is that it would once again bite the smaller alliances in the ass far more than the major blocs, who have the ability to disperse the cost among members more efficiently.
