The first bit ↑↑↑ sounds very passive, maybe you could think of something fun and meaningful to do?
The second bit sounds like the game has changed in your time, which means you could do something else.
Since 2009, whenever i get bored, i get into trouble in EvE. If i don't know what i want to do, i go do what i know i don't want to do.
Put up a pos in lowsec pocket once, just prepared to fuel it until it got destroyed, wanted to see if i could defend it or find support.
Ended up friends with the locals, went places and did things with them. Ended up kind of best enemies due to boredom creating poor decisions.

TLDR: people are the content, you are the content. I've never been interested in releases much, except to know what kind of stick is being used to stir the content around.

Edit: crying about the blue donut is forbidden, now that we all understand that unregulated capitalism leads directly to monopolisation. Devil take the hindmost always ends in devil takes all but the foremost.

LOL at this guy for trying to be funny.....

Another whelp basing conclusions off limited data sets.

Jack, I'm going to say this once and once only - the few people that you know and have known in this game, and had dealings with, do not represent EVE as a whole. This population sample is TOO SMALL to form any kind of conclusion except those that have something directly to do with you. For example, maybe the people you know left EVE because you smell bad and scared them away.

Definitely not an EVE is dying thread. I think he's only saying EVE is dying to cause a spike on the EVE Death-o-meter. If someone really wanted to blow the EVE is dying count out of proportion, they could sign all their posts with EVE is dying.

Like this...

EVE is dying.

It looks more like a recycling operation, I just game back after a year off and over the past 2 days or so have noticed multiple "I just came back" chats going on, people come and go like a cycle.

a != a

Interesting. Oh wait. Nope. It's not.

Reported for violating the law of identity. Note for yourself that once you assert something that breaks a fundamental rule of logic, no one will ever take anything you say seriously. You are a lunatic, claiming that a thing is not what it, by definition, is.

Only if your from the west. Eastern Philosophy does not necessarily hold the Law of Identity (or the Law of Excluded Middle for that matter either). Zen based philosophies in fact zoom in on contradictions like a != a as interesting and signifying something interesting is going on.

Regardless I suspect what OP was really saying was "This is not another thread about EVE is dying because we already know its dieing and do not need to discuss that, lets talk about something more interesting.".

EDIT:
Formalizing with first order propositional logic (going back 25 years here so excuse any errors) we get two separate assertions:
- firstly for all x where x is EVE then F(x) where F is "EVE is dieing" is true.
- Secondly there exists at least one y where y is a thread where G(y) is "the subject is EVE dieing" is false.

Something like that, been too long ago.

Eastern philosophies pretend to be interesting by playing word games and using the same words in different contexts with obviously different meanings and then jack off to their own profundity by proclaiming that *gasp* context is essential to understanding a logical claim.

The people who think a != a is interesting because the sound of one hand fapping in the forrest can't be heard if there's no one there to notice if your mu has the essence of the Tao are just distracting you with your own ideas about the non-world you don't live in.

Think we can close this EvE is dying thread, the guy pointed me towards source of the problem. I will stock up on antiperspirants and try using fresh underwear instead of turning it inside out every other day.

Must be beneficial to be fairly new, because I love the game. Sounds like to me that you've just played the game out. Anyone will get bored of something when they've been doing it long enough.

in the end, you are all that remains.

EVE Online - never forget.

on a serious note, I do know some people are always looking for "content", but fail to understand that in EVE the "content" is only the tools of the trade(or destrucion/construction) and what really makes this game is the people.

so they grinded missions. so they built standings. so they have an expensive ship. for some people, all goals have been reached. they ran out of reasons to play - they have nothing else to achieve.

the thing is, that's all that some people think of, never considering all there is in EVE-O. the goals of fat wallets and pimped up ships are only tools. people who set their goals like this will never understand EVE. these people come and go, and those who stay are the ones that understand the simple fact that ships, fittings, skills and money are only tools. it's what they do with those tools that makes this game what it is, since as early as the beta.

I don't know either one of those who stayed since the very beginning and never left. but I feel confident enough to say that those that stay don't play EVE for the ships or the iskies but for the social interaction and unique experience.

EVE Online is about the story.

If you're in hisec doing pve in EVE, then you fail. I got bored of that within the first couple weeks.

Eve online behaves just like a large sized corporation in a post industrial revolution mildly capitalistic society.

Attention High turn over rates.
Attention Short attention spans motivated by shiny new content.
Attention In the end, active subscription numbers and sales are higher.

Looks just like my job really...

If you seriously want to know why those people you had contact with in-game stopped playing EvE, I would advice asking themselves. Starting a thread about it in GD is only resulting in a pletora of opinions, not a definite an/or accurate explanation on why they (temporarily) left.
