Worst Merc`s ever award?

Having recently returned to eve after a long break, i had decided to use alts to mine ice while semi afk. the usual suicide gank/ extortion attempt was fully expected but i figured this would give me a chance to dust off my guns.. to my joy said suicide ganker is associated with Marmite Collective, who some time ago where hired by our old industrial corp to help out with a wardec.

Since on this occasion our `hired guns` never showed up (despite being paid and joining the wardec) i was joyous that i would finally find out what they are made of..

Especially as an ex merc myself i know what i was expecting and sadly their effort (or lack of it) simply doesn`t cut it, possibly the most risk adverse pvp alliance i have come across! they seldom leave the docking ring unless they have overwhelming odds (even then they are paranoid you are bait if you engage them and unlikley to agress back).. other than to gank haulers in niarja of course.

Bottom line is a good merc corp will find you, not have to be hunted and pry`ed out of stations by a 1 man corp, the target should be under 23/7 pressure.

Having asked around, checked killboards etc..it seems i`m not the only person they have not bothered to turn up for. as i see it the mercenary trade is based upon the clients trust and the mercenaries honour and this outfit are more suited to high sec grief and scams than being mercs.

Unless you target has an exceptionally low boredom threshold and will quit the game after a week of watching them hugging station I`d spend my isk elsewhere..

Well well as if you actually came and did it Lol

We had this convo yesterday mate and you could not prove you was ever a client to marmite. even worse you got confused with your own story saying we joined a Dec and didn't show but when linking the "supposed" client corp there was no marmite on any of the 3 wars.

every client of ours gets a special receipt with our contracts.

please mail me the receipt to prove your not just an unhappy
current war target of ours who is stuck in amarr.
(which btw makes another client very happy)

Don't confuse kindness with weakness.

Have had war dec's from marmite plenty of times in the past. But they never show up to get fights, so calling themselfs merc's is a bit far fetched, unless as mercs you count camping the tradehub lanes.

GM Guard > I must ask you not to use the petition option like this again but i personally would finish the chicken sandwich first so it won´t go to waste. The spaghetti will keep and you can use it the next time you get hungry. Best regards.

Look, when hiring a merc group, you must match the group with your need.

For example, if I want to limit am Indy corps access to a trade hub, hurt their haulers or force those out of corp, or hire a general nuisance corp to harass my target, Marmite works. They do those jobs well, it's their specialty.

If I needed to clear a dead POS in high sec, I would contact RvB to see if they still offer this service. They have ample muscle to do this quickly and enjoy the occasional change of pace. Marmite, not so much, not because they couldn't. They certainly can, but because pulling them away from the comfort zone of their specialty may lead to less than optimal results. I'm not saying it won't get done, I'm just saying others may do it faster because their focus is POS bashing or they are a generally bloodthirsty lot who have the members to do the job very quickly.

If i want to destroy a corp from the inside or just get it to disband, I would hire someone like... Ugh can't remember the name, but he has that dashing avatar that looks like a cross between Han solo and Richard Branson.

So basically, do your own research and find the right merc for your job. Don't just hire X because they are big, bothered you hegore, or have a post in C&P. Find the right merc for your job.

I`m still trying to figure out what role they would fulfill? as far as i know `lame` inst a valid pvp tactic? - especially not 1 i would pay 850m isk a week for...

Don't hire Marmite Collective for anything more complex then shooting ships on a trade hub's undock. To call them mercenaries would be too much credit for a group of overpaid hisec vandals. Lol

Odd, you remained docked all the time I was waiting outside station in Bei for you this morning. Afk?

I'd also get a different set of eyes if I were you. Having one with virtually the same name as your CEO is a bit of a giveaway.

Maybe you should ask yourself why i was in bei.. looking for you.. when you are supposed to be looking for me? and i was watching station right till the part where you logged. I rest my case..
Well at least you finnaly ran some intel on me.. the most obvious intel ever. U must have Sherlock Holmes as your intel officer or something.. Roll

Yes, of course you were, replete with obvious scout in-system and a broken overview.

You're not impressing me, at all.

Sounds like typical Marmite. If they wardec you, you only generally need to worry about trade hubs and the occasional pipe system, and even then, a couple of combat capable ships and they scatter pretty quickly. To be fair though, before hiring them you should have checked about. It's not a secret that they are the joke of the merc world.

I am Elven Serpent's old friend from the industrial alliance. His entire story is fake. He hired Marmite Collective to kill his own industrial corp a year ago and then got kicked from the corp when they found out via his API key. They got a lot of kills, but we were lucky that the war ended after the first week. I had a chat with Elven last week and he told me he hired Marmite Collective to go to war with his current corp too. He said he only had to pay 100M for the allies thing and was pissed off, because they didn't ask more. His main thing was to make them look bad, but in stead they helped him big time. He told me he would make up a nice story anyway on the forums and it seems he did. Elven will never grow up. And no, we do not want you back in!!!!!

And here we have the truth. People need to learn that lies have no legs!.

I am glad to see Lucas Kell hanging on to every word like a nodding dog but then being delusional comes with the territory.
