Hmm, I checked the roles for the characters who have posted here saying they can't get in, and everything seems to look good from the server's end. It's possible that these issues may be caused by the same problem that's been gumming up the works for some people connecting to SISI.

We're gonna try some things tomorrow that might help.

There are definitely a few ongoing issues with test servers, which are being worked on currently.
I'll be keeping an eye on Duality every day from now on and we'll make sure issues get ironed out as quickly as possible. :)

I was logging in fine a few hours ago and now I'm getting the following error message: "The client's local session information is corrupt, probably as a result of failed cleanup during a disconnect. Connecting to the server in this state could lead to a rather unpleasant game experience. Please restart the client prior to logging in."

Edit: restarting doesn't help

Edit 2: rebooting the computer fixed it.

Clean up cache (C:\Users\[user]\AppData\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_duality_duality\cache), this usually helps.

edit: just for the record, i'm able to log in, however we do not know our home system.

I'm logged onto duality but I can't seem to change the system password with the given command (/setpassword"password") so no message comes up.

It comes up in cyan text if that helps.

Thanks for going out of your way to provide Duality, really appreciated!

Your captain should do the 'setp/w' and the popup will give your system name.

There must be a space between /setpassword *and* "password"

Connected to Duality with ease, thank you so very much for getting it up for us today!

I've not received anything telling me what our private system is, so I am assuming from what you wrote above that when we set password, it'll tell us our system.

However, the /setpassword command is not actually doing anything. I've tried /setpassword password, /setpassword "password", and numerous variations of it. Nothing happens except it echos back in chat "slash /setpassword password" (obviously I'm not using "password" as my password lol!)

I've tried in corp and alliance chat rooms.

Help appreciated!

And thanks again for Duality!!

Still no access to Duality. Same message keeps poping up with all my toons

"The cluster is not currently accepting connections"

Already tried to clear cache, reboot, reinstall.

All players in my alliance that have tried cannot log in either.

Ok, so I'm struggling here Sad

I've followed this guide:

https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Duality?_ga=1.29314748.1842447081.1397677340#Windows:_DualityClient_Installation

and all I get is a launcher, with no way of launching the client.

Anyone had this/found a way around this??

Any help would be appreciated Big smile

Don't follow that

Quoted from CCP Fozzie post

***THIS NEXT PART IS IMPORTANT & DIFFERENT FROM PREVIOUS YEARS SO PLEASE READ CAREFULLY***

Please assume that we WON'T be keeping Duality at parity with TQ.

What this means is you need to make a copy of your current TQ client install and keep it separate from your normal TQ client install which you will be updating.

Once you have made that copy this is how you make it "Duality ready"...

Create a shortcut to your "Duality client" exefile.exe, which resides in the “bin” folder of your copy Eve install. After making the shortcut, right click on it and go to “Properties”. From there, add “ /server:Duality”, without the quotes, to the “Target”. If you open it up and the launcher appears, you did the shortcut to “eve.exe” and you’re bad at following directions. ;)

Please reply in this thread with any issues, or contact me and I'll do my best to address them.

Follow the directions in the first post of this thread Big smile The Wiki will lead you astray!

1. Make a fresh copy of your Tranquility folder. Name the folder something obvious, like "Duality," so you don't mess it or your main client up by accident later on.

2. Then go into the Duality folder you made after it has copied, and go into the "bin" subfolder.

3. Find the file named "evefile.exe" in the "bin" subfolder.

4. Make a shortcut of it.

5. Right-click on the shortcut, select properties, then in the "target" field, add /server:Duality to the end of it. Put it after the last quote that is already in the target field, and don't put any quotes around /server:Duality

6. Use the shortcut you made to access Duality. Ignore any "not accepting connections" words next to your username/password boxes, just log in (it's in VIP mode, so we get in).

Hope this helps!

GG

Edit: Sivor faster than me lol :) BTW, if you get the launcher, you've likely created your shortcut using the wrong file.

Did you try opening Duality with the launcher at all? If you did, you likely updated Duality without intending to and that could cause an issue.

Did you run the "repair" utility? If so, you likely corrupted Duality (I did that myself by accident woops!)

Make sure your Duality copy is IDENTICAL to your TQ copy. Don't download TQ, just simply copy the entire folder.

Make sure you are making the shortcut to the right file. It needs to be to the evefile.exe file in the bin subfolder.

hrm, thinking about it now, I suspect may be a shortcut issue. Double-check the shortcut's target field.

Mine looks like this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP Duality\EVE\bin\exefile.exe" /server:Duality

Of course, your folder names may be different - but double-check the placement of the quotes and capitalization of the /server:Duality bit at the end.

Hope this helps!!
