Faction module same as Tech 2 module?

Here are the stats for a Thukker Large Shield Extender:
Shield HP Bonus: 2625 hp
Structure HP: 40 hp
Fitting
Cpu: 46 tf
Powergrid: 165 mw

Here are the stats for a Tech 2 Shield Extender:
Shield HP Bonus: 2625 hp
Structure HP: 40 hp
Fitting
Cpu: 46 tf
Powergrid: 165 mw

What is the point of even bothering to introduce the Thukker Large Shield Extender into the game? What?

The Faction shield extender will also absorb heat better.

Tech 2 modules don't cope with heat as well as T1 or named items.

See they aint the same... difference could mean the world in some situations, specially on buffer tanked T3 cruisers...

As already noted above the thukker shield extended causes less Sig bloom handy on any ship wanting to speed tank like HACs or T3 cruisers.

I don't see anything in the attributes to lead me to believe that this is true. I did notice that the Thukker module does give a slight bonus to signature radius reduction. So at least that is something.

I guess my point is, it seems to me to be a pretty lame faction module. I am certain in my case that the features listed in the attributes would not be enough to make me open my wallet and buy it.
