Last thing, when opening a wreck to loot it, why would it be set to have a new sized and positioned widow everytime. Why change it from a remembered window size and position like it was before this patch, The multiple corp hangers settings are ok just makes no sence with wrecks, who loots or even gets the same wreck twice.

This. The loss of the lock window position option and/or the inability of wrecks to remember their window's position, renders the point of having the 'loot all' button moot.

And since there isn't an option to stick a shortcut to it (to the loot all button), and it doesn't get focus in the wreck window, you have to drag your mouse to the center of the screen every time you open a wreck and aim to hit it; extremely annoying in the heat of battle, or when mass looting missions.

Where before, wreck window had the right focus. Hitting alt-a and dragging all to your cargo worked faster than this. Mainly due to the reason that both your cargo and the wreck's window could remember their position (preferably back to back).

The way it's sorting them in the drop-down is starting to bug the hell out of me. I use to number the groups so as to manually sort the groups based off of what was more important. Now, if I have more station insta-warps than system safes, using the insta-warps for their intended purpose is a pain in the ass. I'm starting to use the people/places window more than the right-click, as that's a lot faster.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Well you got me to sign into the new forums to declare my discontent... whatever genuis decided to mess with people's bookmarks needs to have his head examined. With a game that has had so many problems since the Incarna patch someone decides to 'fix' something that isnt broken???

The 'personal bookmarks' lunacy has to go, i mean.... "Let get the players to click even more when theyre trying to fly their ships. Its working fine, lets make it more complicated." ................Duh!!!! I'm actually embarrased for whoever made this mistake /o\

If people cant sort their BM's themselves bu adding numbers, codes, names or something give them a tutorial dont change the basic mechanics of how the game is played.

As the bookmark system was before this patch, we had the ability to access bookmarks in the "root" of the right-click menu. This permitted better control over the bookmark structure as we could have popular bookmarks, like our POS, in the root and less popular in folders. It seems to me that the best solution would be to allow corp bookmark folders too, giving complete control over the bookmark structure on the right-click menu. That way if a corp wants to distinguish their bookmarks they can put them all in a folder called, e.g. "corp", and an individual could use, if he wanted to add extra time to all his jumps, a folder called "Personal Locations" or such. This suggestion also permits both corp and individuals to use the root for the important bookmarks.

I'm guessing that the person who came up with the 1.01-version doesn't live in wormholes, where the majority of jumping is done using bookmarks?

You can create sub-folders in the Corporate Locations too, no problem there. The real problem, as Scrapyard Bob identified, is whenever you have more than 4 items (folders or bookmarks) reachable within the present solar system, they are automatically collapsed into either the Personal or Corporate folder, requiring you to mouse at least one more level over. Obviously this was a development decision to prevent the right-mouse pop-up menu from becoming too crowded, but choosing the arbitrary number '4' as the limit was a bad decision...users should have control over how many appear in the root menu and whether to collapse or not.

I submitted a bug on this (#120609) but got the reply that this is "by design", so I'll raise the issue here in hopes that someone will come to their senses and fix it:

Why can't we add a location (formerly known as bookmarks) to the Corporate folder via the right-mouse menu??? When you select ''Save Location...' from the right-mouse pop-up menu, only the Personal Locations folder is available, the Corporate Locations folder is not present in the dropdown box. Therefore, the only way to save a location to the Corporate Folder is to first save it to Personal Folder, then open People & Places, and then drag & drop from Personal to Corporate folder. And if you don't want the location to be duplicated in both folders (which most people probably won't), you also need to take an additional step to delete it from the Personal folder, since drag & drop in this case does a copy, not a move (which is inconsistent with normal drag & drop in Eve, where copy only happens if you hold down the shift key...but this is a separate bug).

What's the point of having Corporate bookmarks if I have to go through such machinations to save them? This isn't really any easier than old way of copying bookmarks to a corp hanger or secure can. And why even put the dropdown box there in the New Location window, when the only choice is Personal Locations? Makes no sense... What?

Right click menu change regarding bookmarks (sorry, "saved locations") is TERRIBLE - now your bookmarks are all behind one level of additional sub-menu ("Personal Locations" and "Corporate Locations"). When trying to dig up that POS bookmark for a fast getaway, this is going to get people killed...

I could see the current layout as an option, but the way it worked before today was the correct way - freely mixing your personal and corporate locations that are in the current system, all showing directly under the right click menu.

Sure, you could make them visibly different a single-character icon/letter before them or something, but this submenu system is just... FIX BACK NOW! :bittervet getting bitter:

Edit: to clarify, before today it was like this:

Bookmark 1
Bookmark 2
Bookmark 3

Today it is

Personal Locations > Bookmark1
Corporate Locations > Bookmark 2
...................................Bookmark 3

(with the sub-menus behind > opening when you mouse over)

Acceptable way of tagging them could be:

P: Bookmark 1
C: Bookmark 2
C: Bookmark 3

Still could tell personal and corporate ones apart, but no silly submenus. Letter could be replaced with some kind of icon if needed.

+1 ... Pisses me off!

It seems to annoy everyone. It's totally user unfriendly and especially in combat situations useless.

I recommend to use following layout:

Reset Camera
---
Show Solar System in Map Browser

Planets >
Stargates >

---
Personal Locations
Bookmark Folder 01 >
Bookmark Folder 02 >

Thank you for puting line between personal and corp saved locations in right click menu. Much better now. It was very confusing before. Most of the time I didnt know which locations are personal and which are corp. Now I can easily see which is which.

Thank you again.

Can't you simply copy important locations in the system from Corporate to Personal folder? I haven't logged after the 1.0.1 patch, but Crucible 1.0 showed all the personal locations where the old "My Places" would show up on the right-click menu.

Hey devs, can't you add the "Personal Locations" and "Corporate locations" to Overview window presets so that we could make the "locations" show up in our overview window??? Would make warping so much easier...

Besides, having all those actions behind right-click menus is bad for UI - I meet every day people at work who aren't customed to use right click menus in Windows environment and even after those have been shown to them, they lack the hand coordination to use the menus effectively (ie. fast).

So instead of forcing me to do the following:

right click space -> choose bookmark folder -> choose desired bookmark -> left click warp to

I should be able to look at overview window:

left click desired bookmark -> left click warp to

Which one you think is simpler? Blink

PS. Also make mission locations appear in overview window.

The navigation method for the window needs to be changed, too. It will help a lot if the root menu and its sub-menus simply stay open as long as you don't select and click another menu item or click outside the menu. This will fix the issue that you get too much distracted by the menu handling where you will close sub-menus by accident. My recommendation for the following change makes it easy to navigate and activate fast and straight without errors.

Method

right-click will open root menu as usual
select your menu item
left-click will open sub-menu and it will stay open
select your sub menu item
left-click will open the next menu
everything stays open till you select another menu item or left-click outside the menu what will close the context menu
right-click could just place the actual context menu with its open sub-menus at actual mouse position

Example

right-click opens root menu
select "bookmark folder"

left-click will open "bookmark menu"
select "bookmark"

left-click will open "navigation menu"
select "warp to 100"

left-click will close window and warp ship to your bookmark @ 100

Oh the nested bookmark folders definitely do not work at all :/ They need to be instantly clickable, and hunting for the bookmarks from flimsy menus is terrible.

Please consider other options for all contextual menus that are needed in combat situations!

Drone commands, bookmarks, warp to, etc.

After this mini-update, bookmarks still being forced into sub-folders.

It still sucks. Please undo this really bad idea before it gets people blown up.

You have to wonder if the guy who came up with this idea has actually played the game. At all. Ever.

I just cannot understand why someone would bring in such lunacy. In a PvP environment, any extra clicks, extra drop down folders to navigate through etc are a real pain in the ass.

Please change it back.

What was the thinking behind the scan probe filter? This is a horrible feature and added nothing to the game and only creates problems.

Remove it please.
