Remove learning implants

Get rid of them. I would say the learning implants are one of the biggest obstacles for just-for-fun PvP, along with the still high clone costs for high sp characters - but we can discuss that another time, another thread.

At current prices the best standard learning implants - improved ones, are about 100 million ISK apiece. I like to own a full set, but obviously I would typically need only two for my main two attributes I need at the time... Or wait, I haven't done a remap in a while, actually it might be that you would need a full set to get the best bang for your buck in terms of attribute points to distribute. Of course I might also be wrong, and have no easy, non-costly ways of testing this at the moment.

Well, in any case, the cost of these implants alone comes to about 200 to 500 million ISK per loss.. Which is wholly unnecessary punishment on top of likely losing your ship and fittings. Why this is important, is because these implants are practically mandatory to own, unless of course you enjoy slower skill training. There occasionally pops up a thread that asks, "what is stopping you from doing pvp in eve?" and quite often players say that they value their sp/hour more than their KB stats. You can make do without skill hardwirings, but attribute enhancers are a must buy for aforementioned reasons

So you removed learning skills. You should go one step further - remove learning implants as well, keep the points and remaps however. IMO they could go as well, so that the only thing you have to figure out is what you want to focus on without min-maxing your imaginary internet points every year... But you should probably leave them in place just to appease the "OMG EVE isn't HC enough!" crowd.

Old topic, and bad idea. People who want a crutch for explaining away PvP don't just have implants as a convenient excuse, and learning implants offer diversity of player choice.

Enjoy thread lock.

If they're bothering you so much, just ignore them.

Make space glamorous! Is EVE dying or not? Ask the EVE-O Death-o-meter!

Pray tell what choice do learning implants give? Other than "I won't use them and miss out on those extra 2,6 million SP a year?"

I don't know about you, but ships and their fitting cost a lot already (or not, that's your choice of course), then pile on the implants and clone costs, and there is a lot of punishment for playing - particularly if you use your character with over 100 million SP. To me, a ship and pod loss is about 700 million ISK on average - and I don't even use the most fanciest of toys (would be a lot more if I did, obviously). Now that might not sound a lot, but when it keeps piling on, it is.

"Don't die" is not a valid rebuttal, we all die at some point, sometimes repeatedly, even you. Slashing 240 million ISK allows me to buy another ship (not fittings), whereas before I would have spent that on a clone and implants.

The age old mantra "If you can't afford to lose it, don't fly it" comes to mind...

And the idea that +5's are mandatory is absurd. You're only losing 10 days a year by using +4's instead of +5's, which cost 1/5th the isk, and 20 days by using +3's instead of +5's.

Assuming you NEVER, EVER use JC's to swap to a learning clone for your downtime.

Oh, and uhh...

This is just golden... Gotta keep dem KB's green, because if I'm not grinding rocks in the belt or grinding L4's in my Raven, the only thing left to do is grind a 98% efficiency on the killboards as my shining badge of glory that justifies the countless hours I've wasted flying internet spaceships... Without that, what's the point?

I hear Microsoft has learned to cater to your needs, you could spend some quality time with your Xbox and solve this whole issue.

Reported for closure.

Don't bring up crap that's already been done to death. Let alone if there are existing threads still open.

Failing to use the Search function !
Otherwise you would have found This and would have been much wiser, we less annoyed and the forum less cluttered.

Thank you for your consideration.

PS: That thread is still open, so feel free to join there. This might not see the light of day.

I think there is enough evidence to show that even if you give people exactly what they want, they will still whine for more.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Kind of like the requests for NPC seeded plex and putting an end to suicide ganking?

Yeah, I suppose this kind of fits in that category.
