If you are in a system with a lot of people, by selecting everyone in local (Ctrl+A) it makes it visibly easy to see who comes into system after.

Dual Pane idea: Click!

  • when in space, if you click something and hold the mouse down, you get some action panel

I had actully forgotten that this existed Shocked i probably haven't used it for more than three years!

    my one:

There is no such thingas "passive align" when your ship is stationary it has no vector the graphical direction of your ship is an arbitrary direction chosen by your client. you can be pointing 180 from your destination and it will have zero effect on your time to warp unless your speed is greater than zero M/S.

I wish people would stop saying this.

No, you do not have to be moving to launch a bomb successfully.

When bombs were first introduced they only had the velocity your ship imparted to them, this was changed.

Now, when you launch a bomb if fly's away from you for 30km and detonates (10 seconds after launch) regardless of your velocity.

It "is" true that it is always a good idea to be moving when you launch a bomb. It launches straight ahead of you so be careful not to over run it. Best practice is to have a warp out point dialed up and ready located directly on the opposite side of your target from where you are. That way you are already aligned and at speed to warp immediately after you decloak and launch.

Bombs will detonate (as long as you do not cloak or leave system prior to detonation) whether you are on grid with it or not.

You can now see the detonation point and radius by hovering your mouse over your bomb launcher in tactical view.

    Missile range is not absolute.

Your Missiles take time to accelerate taking off your range and if your target is moving your missiles have to catch up to them. If they are 100km and your Missiles can travel 80km if they travel 20km towards you they will hit, if they are 60km away and move 20km away from you the missile will run out of fuel.

This is not related to the current position of your ship, once the Missile is launched there is its start point and it will then accelerate towards the target the same regardless of what ship is doing. You do not have to hit a target to get credit for it, the simple act of hitting the launch button will incur aggro, and spot on the killmail.

Speaking of killmails BTW. if you hit a ship and warp off grid you still get on the kill mail as well as after your ship explodes. If you jump or dock though you loose credit.

Edit: Unaware if missiles and bombs will hit targets even if you warp off grid. Can someone clue me in.

You cannot assign drones do different fixed-groups, and launch them with a launch shortcut to each of those groups.

The world is a community of idiots doing a series of things until it explodes and we all die.

Never underestimate what a ship is capable of. Especially when being piloted by a very determined player. If the conditions are right and Lady Luck smiles on you; anything is possible.

If you "show info" on an item and click on the variations tab there is a nifty compare tool to see the relative differences between modules

if you sell lots of stuff on the market, use the last two digits of your sell order's price to create a personal signature for you, so you can easily discern your orders from those of your competitors in the market window.

If you are can mining, change the name of the can to "Giant Secure Container". This cheap trick doesn't work always, but often enough Big smile

You warp faster if webbed (acceleration of your ship doesnt change but your max speed reduces, this means you reach the 3/4 of max velcity need to warp quicker. Can be very useful for industrials/caps)

Would be nice if it had thousands separator. I am aware that CCP pilots probably never calculate profits that have more than 3-4 digits so this has never come up before, but there are those of us that actually sometimes use it for calculating figures that involve tens of billions and always end up disappointed. At least these days you can just open the integrated browser and fire up Google Docs spreadsheet but that is quite a bit of :effort: for a single calculation.

Just make sure that when you do so in Empire space, you are fleeted.

Otherwise the ship doing the webbing will find out that those gate guns and CONCORD police ships actually have teeth...

In your keyboard shortcut settings, combat tab. Clear CTRL from ''Lock target'' and make a new CTRL shortcut for ''Toggle lock target''. This can be used to select and de-select targets while holding CTRL.
