Drone Assign

Would you like to easily increase your dps by 1k just by giving up use of your drones?

Would you like your bonus dps to follow and attack targets even if they escaped from you?

Would you like to be able camp a gate/wh with a dictor and 2 ranis while putting out ~5k dps?

If you would like to do any of these things buy yourself a thanny! The carrier sits on the edge of pos shields and assigns drones to friendly players in complete safety while boosting its gang with upwards of 3k dps!

I live in a Wolf-Rayet and we like to use Enyos. Lets say we get a standard gang of 6 enyos and 3 exeqs. Three out of the nine pilots have maxed carrier alts that can fly Thannies. For some corps this might seem unreasonable but I assure you its fairly common for many high class wh corps. Those 3 thannies sit on edge of pos and assign 5 fighters to each enyo and exeq. My enyo gang that had about ~3k dps in my home Wolf-Rayet(bonus to small guns) now has 12k dps. Now lets say we lure a comparable t3 gang into our home, 6 t3s and 3 guardians. We might lose a couple enyos or exeqs but that t3 gang is no match for 12k dps. In a magnatar that would be closer to 20k dps with a ~10 man gang and carrier alts.

Granted this method is confined to usually your home system, this will make defending whs much easier.

Another fun application for this would be to sit your thanny on a nullsec wh assigning drones to a sabre and couple ceptors.

There's so many things you can with carriers in wh's now. Lowclass carriers might actually be useful now Lol

I'm curious what you guys make of this... discuss.

Yup - this is pretty much the reason for the "skynet' thanny discussions that cropped up once the drone/fighter changes were announced pre-Kronos.

I'm right behind you

In the grand scheme of things goes part and parcel with the home field advantage expected in a home system, sure a little safer than warping in 20 dreads.

Plus it allows you to safely engage nasty badgers that might chew up your thanatos http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=14425202
