For those of us who dont have time to spend 1 hour looking for a fight only to get blobbed/cynoed on/docked up on.

For those of us who want pure balanced PvP at a click of a mouse.

And to bring new blood into EVE.

PvP Arenas.

Join queue, select ship and fitting, pay isk for it, and brawl.

All fittings used have to be paid for with isk (contribution to wider EVE world).
Arenas have their leaderboards and rankings.
EVE lore - neural training simulator like in EVE Chronicle on the elite navy pilots, i forget whats it called, but empire factions were running pod programs to train their pilots over and over again.

+1 the post to keep it bumped near the top please.

DISCLOSURE - Im a bitter vet who has done it all and been everywhere

PVP arenas are the first step towards consensual PVP which is the first step towards the end of the sandbox, as many have said using far more words and walls of text and will say again shortly.

[Edit: Off-topic part was removed, CCP Phantom]

Things are only impossible until they are not.

So? Id rather click a button and choose my cynnabal fit of the day and get to it, then spend 2 hours prowling nullsec looking for a fight, only to get blobbed, cynoed on, or blueballed at the end.

But, nice pony clip. +1

I'm not sure eve is really in need of this if you want a fight head to lonetrek or provi plenty of targets or join up into FW.

But if ppl really do want something like this implemented don't make ppl pay to to enter this arena but do allow them to place bets on there fight as well as on others.
don't have predetermined fits let ppl bring what they want to the fight and have perhaps some modes that dis-allow some mode types (officer, ewar ect.)

and as far as the eve lore don't make it a training simulator but make it what it is a battle arena

could also add in 1v1s team v team of varying sizes and even 1 v group for those who want to prove they can do it.

the more i think about it the more this idea sounds like it could have potential but only if done right

It can't be done right. If you provide risk free instanced PVP, you'll detract from the rich tapestry of the sandbox. If they want to PVP they should go risk something. No sacrifice, no victory, etc.

who said anything about risk free my idea involved them bringing there own ships and fittings and if you lose you've lost them as well

but again i will say i don't think this is something eve needs and there are better things for devs to spend there time on.

I would say duels or even FW are the first step towards this and neither of them are doing anything to "end the sandbox"

Considering all he's saying is to make the Alliance Tournament open year-around and available to all players, I don't see how this is that far of a stretch for people to handle.

+1 This would be great for people who only have a short time to play. If the system allowed for spectators and gambling, all the better!

Arenas and queued pvp have caused the death of world pvp in other games.

Bad idea.

It would destroy 'non consensual' pvp, would stop me doing what I do well, killing in small gangs, fighting in small gangs, with random chance making it exciting.

Your alternative is a phone app that buzzes, while you do some form of in chair exercise, to tell you to wipe up and press F1.

Ever hear of 'duelling'?

this is a good poit and what would probably be a better idea is someone creating a community for this so if ppl really want this just get out and and start organizing that's more in the spirit of eve anyway

Leave nullsec if you want real pvp.

Here, in lowsec, we have plenty of pvp, solo/smallgang.
Sure lowsec have it's lot of blob/cyno but far less than in null.

And you don't have to make 30 jumps to get a fight like in null.

Check my corp KB : https://zkillboard.com/corporation/98301763/ or one of our allies : https://zkillboard.com/corporation/98313291/
We have a lot of pvp content without needed to be 1000+ in fleet.

Nullsec is poor in term of smallgang/solo pvp content because of the big blue dunnut

You miss blink ? Come and play with us at EVE-Lotteries.com !

If its to create arena style combat in real space, then sure as long as i can fly there and shoot ppl. i should be able to gate crash

If this about creating magic space where no one can get to then no. U have the new eden open for that.

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"

I hold a monthly tournament for my alliance. Sometimes its 1v1 sometimes its teams. This is possible to be done, you just have to create your own content, welcome to the sandbox.
PS: Its open to any one who wishes to participate and if we do get more people we will try to open a WH specifically for these events to allow even criminals to compete. send me an in game if interested.
