I have looked for guides that are kept up to date on things like pvp from fittings to tactics. The ideal guide would include information in tank and dps.

Also talk about the roll of each ship. Evepedia is rather vague. I think something that is kept detailed and updated would also help maintain new players.

The game is constantly changing, up to date guides are not really possible.

Eve-Uni seems to keep the most up to date info but that wont have what you want.

What you want is achieved by talking to people in game, gathering knowledge from multiple sources and experiences and then drawing your own conclusion. If you ask the same general question to ten people they will all give you a different answer and more than half of them will probably be wrong.

You are reading the best guide right now!

Despite all the shiptoasting, arguments, flaming, trolling and the hive of scum and villainy that is the C&P section (my fave btw), the forums hold so much useful information.

I read & learnt so much here when i was starting out.

Jint Hikaru - Miner / Salvager / Explorer / SpaceBum In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Maybe OP is referring to the dd parameter "if", input file. Sentence can be constructed to read "lacking continuously updated eve guides".

I'll show myself to the door.

That's because players tend to organize themselves into groups which have their own forums, wikis and resources that have been built over the years. Also, there are many approaches when it comes to fitting and each of them are good in their own ways and with a specific gameplay in mind. Having it all in the official EVE wiki would send the wrong information to new players reading it that the fits posted there are the best of the best and that those fits listed on the official wiki would have to be officially recommended fits, which is a great misconception.Smile

Anyway, to help you out, here are some of the resources available:

- First, you'll need a tool in which you can play with to find the optimal fir for what you have in mind. Many good tools exist, but there are two of the great ones:

These tools receive regular updates and are up to date with each expansion.

Once you have the tools, here are the guides:

- ISK The Guide has a lot of useful information regarding all aspects of EVE, including a fitting guide: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide. It is player made and regularly updates, as you can see in version history of its wiki page;

- EVE University has been a primary new (and old) player educational organization for many years. Their primary focus is PvP training, including fittings but they also teach other stuff as well. Their wiki is a great public resource. You can start from this page: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Fitting_Guidelines and go from there. Or you can even enlist in EVE Uni for a while and see what classes they offer. Don't worry, it's not like school Big smile They are actually a pretty fun group of people having fun in the game and learning stuff to expand their gameplay Blink

- While we're at PvP schools, as already mentioned in this thread, Agony Unleashed is also one of the good choices. Take a look at their PvP University enrollment to see what they can offer to you. http://www.agony-unleashed.com/index.php?/forum/2-enrollment/

- One of the other great game resources, including fitting and tactics guides, can be found at GoonWiki: http://goonfleet.net/wiki/. Unfortunately, it is only available to their members. Some spies occasionally make the mirror of their wiki available to general public (which is actually allowed in EVE online and belongs to meta-gaming Smile), so you can try googling for mirrors. I seriously and honestly don't recommend trying to apply to join Goonswarm if you don't already have someone there who can get you in and vouch for you. They are a group of cool, relaxed players, but they have an extensive history of recruitment scams where they take all your stuff, destroy your ship and kick you out of their space as soon as you try to join. By the way, recruitment scams, ransoming and theft are also allowed in EVEBig smile

- Another good tool for browsing publicly available ship fits is http://eve.battleclinic.com/browse_loadouts.php. Anyone is free to join Battleclinic and post their fits (they call them loadouts for some reason). Fits are free to be viewed and voted up or down based on their quality, so you can get pretty accurate picture of which fits work in which situation and which fit is just bad.

edit: And, of course, Ships and Modules section on this forum is also a good place to discuss fits: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=251

I hope this is enough resources to keep you busy for a while. Smile Have fun.
