Except that if nobody's buying PLEX for ISK, sellers will lower their prices until they do.

PLEX prices are sustainably high because people are still willing to buy them with ISK.

Its a conspiracy !!!

As far as there are enough people willing to buy "overpriced" PLEXes, then NO... no conspiracy is happening...

Average newcomer and noob can earn 2 B per month by L4s, incursions, exploration etc.... 800m per month is almost "nothing" compared to "back then"..

"Back then" = (when PLEX was 250-300m) a 100m isk was big pile of isk... thats why it cost 300m and now it cost 800m...

people just earn more isk / month, because its easier to...

I wonder if thread #32334897598349857 on this subject will finally address the fact that people cannot live without their alts.

Also, OP and everyone else interested in PLEX prices, please take a look at EVE Fanfest 2014. Economy Panel video (I've linked the exact timestamp where the talk about PLEX starts, so you won't have to search for it). It's a shame that there is so much interest on EVE forums about PLEX prices, but the video itself has only 7,500 views

If the amount of accounts remain the same, the plex price doesnt matter... Only difference will be if a few or many people buy plexes. So in the end, it doesnt matter for CCP.

A profound misunderstanding of basic economics? Check.

PLEX prices are 3.6 bil on the serenity server? Huh. Yeah, I don't feel so bad.

Ugh, this again. OK, this is the way it works, plex costs more than a sub, which is good for CCP. Higher prices in New Eden is good for the seller, meaning that more people are willing to buy plex and sell them in New Eden. BUT if the prices become so high that players who plex their sub stop doing so then that is a bad thing, from the buyers point of view, the sellers and CCPs.
CCP does not want inflated plex prices, they want prices that are in balance with the general income of the playerbase.

You would think with the increasing plex price, it was almost as if there was something else people could do with PLEX besides subbing their account

There aren't many ISK sinks in the game, therefore most ISK generated by mission runners, ratters, etc. stays in the player pool, whereas materials are often destroyed or consumed. As such, PLEX isn't expensive, ISK is devalued.
