Breaking news: three legged tables are a perfect model for long-term stability.

Why is this considered a problem? Seems like natural evolution to me. Sooner or later it will implode, which is also natural.

Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.  - William Pitt

I agree with the Op. Not in detail though.

Today we have 2 restrictions, which unite the whole 0.0 space.

1) This time the motivation of the 2 supercoalitions is stable. The keywords are "Technetium" and "renters" Or in one word: ISK. As long as CCP will not change this, they will not fight each other. They will continue to do, what humans do. They prefer to fill their pockets instead of competition. War at home is bad for business, too much competition is bad for business.

2) all the former socalled PVP alliances, who were pretending small pvp would be so much better and NC would be all the evil, got corrupted into helping the DRF block. Only very few really do not care like Rooks&Kings, Hydra or Black Legion. Today everybody else, who used to fight the NC, is corrupted by the DRF.

basically we have 3 big blocks:

1) Goons/Test/FA = CFC

2) DRF core = Drone Region alliances XIX, Solar, RA.
RA is not just Drone regions. They control regions up to Stain/Tenerifis/Feyntabolis. And we have Non-Russian friends of them, also called DRF. Corrupted former "PVP" alliances, which reformed: NC. Raiden, PL and WN, who hold the territory of the former Northern Coalition. RA holds btw. the territory of another former big player: Atlas. The DRF bought these as Mercs, gave them space. If you talk with them, they will tell you, they will not reset any of their buddies in near future. Even Ev0ke, who went their own way from Pure Blind to Delve still get help from DRF sub alliances vs CFC, which can only mean, they are still DRF.

3) AAA/Stainwaggon/Cascade. This group is very chaotic. They have neither Tech nor as many renters as XIX or RA have. They can muster all together impressing fleets. But it is by far not enough. They are just relicts from the past in a place of the Eve universe, which had the luck to be most far away from Goons or DRF and has nothing to give, compared to the Tech in the North.

We all know, there is a NIP (Non Invasion Pact) between Goons and DRF. We see the facts every day. It does not matter, whatever Goon and DRF bosses pretned. The facts can be seen every day. No big war in the North. Same reason, why nobody resets anybody with in the DRF coalition for real: war at home is bad for business.

So only AAA/Stainwaggon could bring the change or resets. Resets will not happen, because ISK/No Risk PVP > Risk PVP. AAA/Stainwaggon are not strong enough to change anything. As soon as they bring some of their neighbour alliances from the DRF coaltion in trouble, DRF can call in whatever reinforcement alliances, they want. From Branch to Delve. PL, the alliance with most Super capital pilots in the game, recently started to play merc for DRF again. The fact, they killed some DRF pilots also, does not change anything. They killed the AAA/Stain fleet first. They did not risk any trouble for their Tech moons by doing that. They helped their brosefs from DRF more with it.

Today we have the same situation like we had it before with the old Northern Coalition. There is no PVP in North. Instead Northern alliances come to the South and attack the last remaining groups, who are not in one of the 2 big blocks. In opposite to the situation "old NC" this time it is on a scale, which is much more serious. The old NC just made some roaming gangs in South. Sometimes conquered something, but could never hold it. The attack on IT alliances and their coalition was unique. Today it is different.

There has never been any coalition, which:

- claimed as many 0.0 systems
- claimed as many regions
- had as many pets
- had as many alliance members
- had as many Supercapitals

(Check dotlan and find more)

as DRF and so on. It is not just by a few more. The numbers exploded. There has never been an 8k renter alliance, not anything close. There has never been that many Supers in the game as before. There will be nothing and nobody come out of nowhere and stop this. It is, what it is. It is all blue to each other and corrupted.

tl:dr

Unless the DRF reset each other or CCP hammers the status quo of 0.0 by nerfing Tech/renters/Sov, just resets the whole 0.0, it will stay stale. DRF bosses and carebears live very good with the status quo. Goons live also very good with the NIP. Both still find some last survivors of former enemies. They will always find them. And if not, suicide gank some Empire dudes or why not spank some FW noobs? But the big thrill is gone.

The craziest part of it is this: today the mass battles in 0.0 battles are smaller than they were 2 years ago, though all the statistical numbers about the strenth of the 2 remaing big coalitions exploded. That says a lot about the state of the game, combined with falling subscriptions. I had the hope, the patch might change something. What did it change for real? CCP did just, what they always do. CCP implimented some new features, bugs and lag, which keep players busy for a couple days or weeks, until they adapted the new sandbox mechanisms and see the wall. More and more will realize, the wall just came closer than ever. But what did they change in the whole picture? Nothing.

It is over Lebowski.

Without going into a bunch of political jargon, the brief story is this. Last winter there was a war between the DRF, and the former N.C.. Basically the two forces were pretty evenly matched, but then a couple of real life millionaires, infused real life cash into the game during the war on behalf of the DRF. After this the DRF formed alliances with the likes of “White Noise”, the newly formed “NC.”, “Raiden”, as well as the all too famous, “Pandemic Legion”. Once this alliance was formed, the former Northern Coalition was easily defeated, and disbanded. The Goon Swarm, and Test Alliance, idly stood by, as these factions were already close friends of the DRF.

Seeing as you glossed over osme importanat details, I will go over them.

The old Northern Coalation did not even put up a fight. They could not be arsed to show up to defend your own space. show up.

I dont know what turnip truck you fell out of before you wronte this, but I am thinking now may be a good time to go find it and hop back on it. Your opinion is not only uninformed, but very short-sighted.

ITT someone takes doomsday "Eve is dead" cries seriously. CCP can and has borked all of 0.0 sov with an expansion before, and they can again if they want to.

Don't claim you've seen all the effects of Crucible yet. As a trusted insider from CFC just now told me, "tomorrow... the ships will blot out the suns".

CFC want to attack NC. and Raiden? That would be so old news. Then what? Some Tech moons change their owners, maybe. Maybe even a handful of stations. The Southern Coalition will get room to breath.

Will Goons fall? No. Will DRF fall? No.

Will we see a new big player? No. Will we see standings resets within Goons or DRF? No.

In high sec, you have empires.

By running missions and killing enemies, you can align yourself to an empire and gain standings / loyalty from them.

In null sec, you have empires.

By defending space and killing enemies, you can align yourself with an empire and gain standings / loylty from them.

The difference, high sec empires are much easier to join as you don't have to interact with people.

DRF have already reset each other. Just because they're Russian, does not mean they all like each other. It's quite the contrary.

Will you see a new big player? Probably yes, there's a lot shaking up in the policical landscape of null sec. Just because there aren't ships being blown up, don't think for a second that the wars of words aren't being fought vigorously though Jabber/IRC channels.

Let all ships to dialed in point to point warp, "Star Trek style", and anybody can go anywhere, and it won't matter who did what, there's gonna be competition.

If you have a tennis court in your backyard, you can pick up a racket, put on your shorts, and hit the ball in minutes.

If you have to drive three hours and then negotiate and argue for court time, you won't play tennis.

"Getting out" to 0.0 is the problem. There is a Great Wall of Carebear with bears on BOTH sides. Who would have known that it would turn out this way? So in 0.0 it looks like a big NAPfest and the only "sides" are them and us (depending on what side but the words are the same).

It's highsec dwellers and null dwellers - casual players versus basement-dwelling neckbeards who can't tell the difference between alliance politics and RL politics.

Break the wall down, let both sides clash, and there will be....... (brace yourselves you 0.0 dwellers you might have forgotten this)

fun!

Boredom will fix it, boredom brings drama, drama brings fail cascades. It matters not how big you are or how much you are napped, entropy always finds a way to rule the day.

The advantage of a bad memory is that one can enjoy the same good things for the first time several times.

One will rarely err if extreme actions be ascribed to vanity, ordinary actions to habit, and mean actions to fear.

There are no frontiers in New Eden, just 3rd world politics.

When the Jove come you will have no faith and you will be cleansed. They will not be bribed by your ISK, they will not fear your metal beasts, they will not respect your sentient right. Judgement day is close at hand.
