A while back there was a thread that provided snippets of information that helped many thousands of pilots.
What was obviouse for some was new information for others.

While most of the information can be found somewhere on the forums, it was helpfull having one thread with simple one liners of key information that may make somones day a bit better, and as a lot has changed since the original post I think there is information, updates, new changes that may have passed some by and they are just not aware of.

So to start us off:

- When in space, you can drag your central display (Capacitor, Shield, Armour, Structure) to the right or left to suit your preference.

When using probes, you can alt- and shift-drag. Use alt to change the size of the formation and shift to move the formation.

Leaves only the fresh scent of pine.

The onscreen location of your locked up targets can indeed be moved. You'll want to find a small, white indicator that can be dragged wherever the heck you want it to be. Your targets are anchored to it.

If anyone ever looks at you and says,_ "Hold my beer, watch this,"_  you're probably going to want to pay attention.

Double click in space to manually fly there

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

If a target's angular velocity is greater than your equipped turret's tracking speed then surely you're going to miss.

As such, must have dislplayed columns in your overview for any turreted ship are:
Range (can my guns reach out that far?)
Velocity
Angular velocity (can my guns keep up?)
Radial velocity (is he moving towards or away from me?)

If anyone ever looks at you and says,_ "Hold my beer, watch this,"_  you're probably going to want to pay attention.

Your stealth bomber must be moving for a launched bomb to move.

By the way, since we're already talking, do you want to buy a rifter? I've got the cheapest rifters in Metropolis. If you can find a cheaper rifter, buy it!

can I play? P
here are a few things I can think of which I'm not sure everyone knows of:

  • "snapped" windows can be moved together by holding down shift
  • there is a compare tool (news to some people :P), you open it from the variation tab in info windows. When it's open you can drag stuff to it.
  • you can open many info windows (either by changing setting in ESC window or holding shift down while you click "show info")
  • if you drag the solarsystem menu thingy (above your route) to any edit field, you create a link to your solarsystem
  • there are shortcuts for almost all windows and combat commands
  • you can add whole categories/groups from the market to the quickbar by right clicking them and select "add group to quicbar root/folder"
  • when sending mail to your corp or alliance, you can write "corp" or "alliance" in the TO field and it will be converted to the name of the corp/alliance
  • you can sort your mails by assigning them labels. Each mail can have many different labels.
  • holding ctrl down freezes the overview
  • you can display the session change timer
  • you can drag stuff from your cargo to the ship/item button in the neocom and it will be moved to the hangar
  • there are filters in the settings tab in the market window. There you can filter out orders, but also filter the list on the left hand side so it won't show you stuff you cannot use on your current ship or don't have the skills for
  • the search field in the asset window has some clever advanced search functionality (was a devblog on it recently)
  • you can group a few thing together in the necom (right click empty space in the neocom and go to "configure")
  • you can import songs in the jukebox
  • the calculator is awesome
  • when in space, if you click something and hold the mouse down, you get some action panel
  • you can zoom better in on things by holding down the right mouse button, move the mouse a little bit up or down, and then hold down the left mouse button (holding both down) and move the mouse up.

When picking your nose while in the midst of a battle, it's wise to allow your dog to lick your finger thus preventing the buggerization of your keyboard. Just wipe the dog slobber on your jeans.

I'm sure there's a reason for wanting to do this, but I can't think of it...

After hitting the warp button a ship will warp once it reaches 3/4 of its maximum velocity. That is at the 3rd vertical line from the left on your speed indicator.

Want to warp fast? Make sure you are aligned to your destination at 3/4 of max. velocity and hit warp.

You can adjust cruise velocity by clicking on the speed indicator.

If you click on the first name in local, then shift click on the last name in local all the names in local will become highlighted.
Then when someone enters local you can instantly tell who it was as they are not highlighted.

( for scouts etc ) if you train up deep space probes you can enter new system, click warp to next gate and then drop one probe before your ship gets into warp. Set probe to 256au, click scan and in seconds you will have a list of all anoms, sigs, structures, drones and uncloaked ships in the system.

you can magically carry more m3 than your ships cargo size by using containers. 4 small containers take up 400 m3 space in your cargo but can fit 480 m3 into them.

You can list the meta level of each item in your hangar by displaying them in list or detail view then right clicking the header and selecting, "show meta level"

If anyone ever looks at you and says,_ "Hold my beer, watch this,"_  you're probably going to want to pay attention.
