so no pirate ships in hisec...just means people will use cheap t1 setups to run missions and combat anoms in high instead and take away all those shiny targets from the ganks squads...Besides ...why would CONCORD care? These pirate ships are being used for pest control in their eyes, and clearly far more effectively than they can do.

let me get this straight because people can use and do use machariels for bumping freighters and miners you want concorde to act on all the ships even if they are doing LVL 4s, thats like giving someone a speeding ticket for driving 220 MPh just because he owns a ferrari
Actually it's more like the cops arresting you for driving a stolen vehicle loaded with contraband and improvised outside of regulation car builds. You want to drive something like that? You gotta go away from the city roads to do it.

Except in this case the paymasters of the cops often use you as deputies to maintain law and order so would probably turn a blind eye to any 'non-standard' issue kit...

If you had made the argument that there PiratepiratePirate ships and concord as a police force should instantly engage pirate ships i could have found that argument at least something worth looking at and thinking about in the same way cap's were banned from high sec

i prolly would still end up rejecting it.

but basiclly making it a they bump my barge/freighter and i dont like it argument you will get little support

Puhhh, recovered.

As long as high sec pilots can fly concord ships, I see no need for pirate ships above low sec. All yours. Bear

Hey Spank, long time no see.

I actually agree with your points. Implementation would be a huge issue. You know how it is: once you let something go, changing it towards more logical conclusions generates oceans of tears and nerd rage.

The way I would have done it was to set up multiple tiers of faction ships and let the higher tiers be restricted, kind of like teasing the players to leave highsec if they want to enjoy more firepower.

How about we just make security status inversely proportional to skill points and get high sec over with already?

How many skill points to -10.0? What's the equation? If it's completely additive, then even a 2 year old pilot is going to be over +9.0.

Because being highly skilled doesn't automatically mean you should move to a hive of scum and villainy like Mos Eisley but without the politeness?

First off I would like to say job with the character. It looks like you took a lot of time and effort to develop it. +10. Unlike that Cannibal Kane and his gloriously flowing aromatic cacophony called CODE. that flows around the Universe bringing order to chaos.

Try the newest conditioner Kane its called CODE. Begone. We're gonna wash that CODE'. right out of hair...gonna wash that CODE. right out of your hair. only 19.95 ISK from Bennington Enterprises. Will be on the shelf in a few weeks.

Make certain to get the kiddie version as well that is formulated to not burn their eyes unlike the filth that CODE. vomits on a daily basis.

Now onto the matter at hand - The Problem:
Fancy pirate built battleships and other shiny ships being used for pirate gut-curdling nonsense like Level 4 missions. Furthermore the blatant usage of Machariels in Miner and Freighter bumping.

I run level fours in a Kronos because I can.

If you want to put an end to the miner bumping then start a cause to gank the Machariels which now they will be using reppers to make certain that the Bump Ship isn't ganked. Which is good because the rep ships are easy to gank and will cost CODE. more and more ISK to fund and support when ganked.

The Proposal:
Given that CONCORD have presence around gates in high-sec, they should be taking pre-emptive action against what is blatantly a set-up for a Freighter gank. Furthermore the mortal sin of using these nice ships to carebear in fluffy pillow land is sickening and should be banned, or pirate NPS's should be encouraged to circumvent these efforts in a similar way that CONCORD deals with pirate activity.

Why not just have CONCORD establish a field around each high sector gate that would function like a Warp Bubble that when a ship reaches a certain velocity based on its mass that it would tractored by the gate to keep it from bumping. The field would extend around each gate out to 10km and then return to normal space where bumping could take place.

Faction Warfare and Corporations under War Dec's would be immune to this limitation however.

After further consideration I would not only like to +1 this thread, I feel that it should be expanded upon. All pilots flying pirate faction ships (with the exception of SoE) anywhere in empire should immediately be flagged suspect upon undocking/entering a system. It is suspicious a.f. that people are flying the colours of these factions openly. I'm also all for navy chasing you as though you are outlaw, in high-sec, for flying one of these.
