You will find that a lot of people/corporations/alliances have a different ROE (Rules Of Engagement).

The two most common ones you will run into is NBSI (Not Blue Shoot It) and NRDS (Not Red Dont Shoot It).
You might also run into entities that use NHDS (Not Hostile Dont Shoot).

It really is a morale thing, so you just have to figure out for your self what you feel ok with and then look for people that has an ROE that fits with what you feel is ok. Some of the corporations you run into will be very strict and have strong penalties for those that dont follow the general ROE, others give you some leeway allowing you more freedom or settle on a simple slap on the wrist if you break the ROE.

The key thing here is that you have to figure out on your own what you feel is morally "ok" or not, and dont let others tell you what you should feel is the "right" way to feel.

sure. thanks for the tips

Please, point on the miniature rifter where the bad person touched your ship.

OP, this is exactly the type of persons who are clueless and talk out of their asses and you should never listen to said persons.

figured that out when all other posts are friendly. anyway i found out the danger of low sec. managed to kill another ship but engaged a really tough ship (or maybe the pilot is just better than me) and got killed as well. life is exciting out here

Actually it is possible, WORMHOLES! (But again, its an exploit Sad)

No. CONCORD will prevent you from entering a wormhole. Do some research...

OP, you should be giving advice, not asking for it. Lol

I think i know this game in theory. not so much of experience. I spent a month in forums before i subscribed. so i'm not to the level of giving advises Blink like for example i lost my ship to a hawk because i engaged it head on. later on the pilot (who happens to be a really nice dude. what's with nice players all in low sec anyway?) gave me some tips and even paid for half my ship loss cuz i'm new to this. At least i now know that i should not engage any ship i see Twisted

If in doubt, engage!

Confirming we're all fuzzy and cuddly in lowsec while we shoot at eachother's butt.

What if that Hawk was afk? You'd look like a badass! Big smile Shoot first ask later is a good policy in T1 frigs.

I rarely go to high sec anymore and occasionally relearn the lesson about having criminal timers in high sec. lol

Tons of mechanics in the game to keep in mind. Read about them and blowing yourself up will help you remember them all

The Hawk was certainly not afk. It was ratting and i put the Dscan into practice. I blame it on myself for not knowing a Hawk is so tough. i learnt from the pilot that a standard fit Hawk flown by one who knows what he's doing will probably own my comet 9/10 times. exception for a really bad pilot. haha! lessons learnt, experience gained.

Well there ya go!

I know enough people who have this weird luck when it comes to betting on stupid, plus they are good soloers on top of that.

1. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/pusillanimous.
2. Kill anything but pods or miners.
3. Don't kill Freighters.

The lone Orca or Rorqual exempt... Those have been manned by people in need of a lesson if you can kill them alone.

You get the point.... GUTS and GLORY... Not shooting a water pistol at screaming little carebears.

Fly safe and join the cool guys not the petty thieves...
Adventure is in the large scale, not in shooting dust mites

Pew Pew

PS:And yes... I'm an alt... my -10 main has never looked at his kill board. Looking at the kill board changes nothing. Having fun and excitement is everything.

Great job on the pod kill. With a little knowledge about timers, you'd have gotten away with murder.

Don't get discouraged though. Mistakes are there for you to learn more about the game.

And don't listen to this guy about not killing pods and stuff. If it's in space you shoot at it. I'll even combat probe out an afking pod, if I get the chance.

There are no guts and glory in EVE. Just fun and lots of pew pew. Engage everything and watch the world burn.

I simply think that you are confused about what you really wish to do in this game. Shooting things which cannot fend for themselves reveals a rather pussilanimous foundation of your confidence. Not that there is anything wrong with it. At least you try to shoot sitting ducks on your own and not in groups. Miner, pods, noob ships... Are sitting ducks and will get you into trouble one way or another. Cool corps looking at your kill board and seeing that you shoot ducks will not consider you as member. All you will have left are the other weaklings who thrive on short lived instant gratifications. If you like to shoot ducks, then mount a mining laser, shoot asteroids and destroy those while earning money while becoming a successful industrialist.

Says the carebear in the NPC corp. Don't worry about this guy, OP. You gank all you want. There are a bunch of corps who would love to have you.

Also, unless another player whored on your concord killmail, nobody looking at your killboard will see the lost comet, just the pod kill.

Agreed.

A corp rather has an active person who shoots "sitting ducks" (technically they aren't, they made themselfs that way) then they want a risk adverse person who doesn't want to do what ever he wants and hides behind things / excuses.

Hell, ever losses (unless very stupid ones like doing officer mods on everything etc.) aren't a drawback, because it shows you are active and willing to lose a ship every now and then.
