Empathy and pro-social behaviour in rats

So, I just saw this video a couple days ago, and it's pretty nifty. Rats, apparently, can show some pretty complex empathy behaviour towards fellow rats in distress.

And, if you have a properly calibrated spectrum analyzer, you can hear them laugh if you tickle them.

I can assure you that most people nowadays ...
... especially those living in bigger cities ...
... have less empathy than most other emotional beings.

It's horrible to walk around in a city.
