Hi all – Sisyphus from Team Stonehenge.
We did some work in fixing a problem where AlienFX (specific to alienware machines) would crash the eve client.

We believe its fixed now Big smile, but if anyone out there on sisi with the following installed can give some feedback, we‘d be grateful.

Installed software -
Alienware Command Center Software is installed in version 2.5.44.0
Alienware Fusion Service (version 1.0.84.0)
as well as the Alienware OSD program.

Was there a specific message on the crash? I can't exactly tell what an AlienFX related crash would be, vs a normal crash (doesn't happen often).

I noticed it was only happening while dual boxing, it was trying to flicker the colors between two clients, then would crash both clients.

There was a crash that mostly occurred during shutdown of the client; no specific message except for the usual "Windows has detected an error" dialogue, IIRC.

I was working in Dell Pro Support when the new Alienwares came out with the interactive lights n things... it was an electricians worst bloody nightmare! Multiple circuit boards, loads of wires going to all the lights, i nearly had an embolism evaluating the damn things :S

When we did get it going though, it worked well :) I wish i had an Alienware...

Pre-crucible and now currently, I've had no issues with AlienFX aside from it turning off my FX after I've shut down the client. It (more often than not) refuses to re-activate my standard AlienFX profile and stays at the "EVE FX Blue" until I manually turn my FX profiles back on.
