Cruise Ship

I have a number of people, some of my rescued Exotic Dancers, asking me to purchase a Cruise Ship. It seems that temporary conversion of my Obelisk is just not good enough anymore. I personally think that is a good use for the Obelisk when it is not doing its normal jobs.

But, in effort to keep harmony in the hanger and in the Station, I have looked into what Corp may be contacted to contract for the construction of a really nice, plush Gallente Cruise Ship. The problem so far is that I can not find a Corp that specalizes in constructing Commercial Shipping.

So, does anyone know where I may start looking to have one built?

If you are referring to that Opux Luxury Yacht cruisers, you are out of luck. No blueprints for these ships were ever issued and only two of these are retrofitted for capsuleer use. The capsuleer owners might part with their showpieces for a good price, but I wouldn't count on it.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

I would suggest a Phobos for this task instead.

You'd be surprised what you can do with the right vessel. At the suggestion of a friend, my family and I once converted the interior or a Rokh and had it permanently tethered to our tower and nearby structures. With literally hundreds of guest rooms, entertainment facilities and a full holo-comms deck with it's own channel it was lovely accommodation for our guests. Well, at least until it got stolen!

Sounds like that thing really Rokhed.

I don't care what you think, as long as it's about me.

Remember that tetanus shots for the passengers should be mandatory if you decide on converting a Minmatar ship to cruise use.

In fact, it's probably best to steer clear of Minmatar designs all together.

Could help you find an Opux. Price is around 40 bil and I'd require a percentage of the sale as a broker / agent fee.

Mean-spirited insult though this may be, the advice is sound. Minmatar ships are of utilitarian design, with cramped quarters and no luxuries spared, save for ancestral and/or tribal/clan tokens for the spiritual needs of the crew. Most Minmatar vessels are designed to be operated by a larger crew population, thus not much space to house the guests.

It will take no small expenses and some technical ingenuity to retrofit a Minmatar vessel for recreational use. You might want to look into other options, likely a Gallentean vessel like the Thorax, for the purpose, unless it is your intent to have your guests mingle with sweaty deck-hands and salty odours.

A stationary vessel just will not do. How can you have those slow, luxurious cruises about the system, taking in the sights that way? The Opux Luxury Yacht is just that, a smallish cruiser, not a purpose built cruise ship for the upper middle and rich classes.

Roden Ship Yards specializes in small ships, so they probably would not have the facilities to take on a large class ship contract. A military ship yard, by defination, would not be suitable for the job either. I am still checking various Corporations to try to locate a suitable contractor for the job.

Attack cruisers such as Thoraxi and Stabbers are actually quite fast, handlily breaking the 2,000m/s velocity mark depending on fit. Stabbers easily break 2,400m/s mark with one Nanofiber, but at the expense of guest safety.

Military ships do get repurposed for non-military use all the time. The Thorax is spacious, mostly automated, with attractively curved corridors and decks. With a little work it can be made into a recreational ship. You just don't get to fill it with fireworks launchers though.

As far as I understand, capsuleers pop each other on a regular basis.
Giving a civilian vessel to any capsuleer wouldn't be a wise decision.

The only ships appropriate for entertainment involving exotic dancers are the Cruor, Ashimmu, and Bhaalgorn. And the only thing the exotic dancers need to do hold still while strapped to the Altar of God.

Filthy things, exotic dancers.

Don't you automatically sit still if being strapped?

I would suggest the Vigilant. You'd be suprised how much extra luxury, Serpentis put into their ships. Especially one dealing in boosters. (Exotic dancer poles included.)

Our cell's Salvation Angels do a wonderful work, as I can say any of the patrons of our Ivory Tower can confirm.

They were about to do a custom Naglfar for an investor about 3 months ago, but she chickened out.

For custom luxury ships, do contact me via mail.

I believe they squirm on scenes when they perform as well.

Pilot Gaufres;

I've found that a lot of this will depend on the aesthetics of the cruise attendees. Personally, I've found that transporting Caldari VIPs and other persons on Sisters of EVE ships can be quite a treat for them. Aside from the unfamiliar aesthetics, the clean, almost antiseptic design, coupled with converted lab space can make for quite the lounge that will still appeal to their taste. It just requires making heavy use of the emergency lighting and some creative strobing for any parties, or softened lighting and appropriate decor choices for more relaxed affairs.

I always keep my ships clean and antiseptic, without any "decor choices", just bare necessity for efficiency.
