L3 Profitability

I'm currently beginning L3 missions in Amarr ships.

Based on current skills, I'm only a few days away from training to BS (albeit it a low skilled one.)

Is it better to work towards T2 medium lasers and blitz L3's or to go ahead and get into L4's as soon as possible, even though it will be slow going in the beginning.

Thanks in advance.

If your skills are lower L3s are almost always the answer. Milage will vary but generally speaking the time to clear the L4s for sub optimal BS will eclipse the added bounty and rewards.

Blitzing lv 3s is vastly better than struggling through lv 4 missions for a new character.

Thanks for the quick replies. What's a good benchmark for being able to do L4's efficiently? I figure I'll work on getting all t2 weapons/modules/drones for BS and then make the jump.

Without the old cert system I'm not really sure. But I'd go on a limb and say it is prolly about lev3 on mastery with T2 tank to get started at being efficient. And then vastly improving as you get the T2 guns and supports/drones maxed out. Then move into the pirate bs/marauder for max isk/hr

That or just get out of missions as there is better fun and isk out there ;)

Currently blitzing level 3s in a raven. If you are going to use a battleship for this then warp speed rigs are going to be a must have and the implants are also very good to have.

I'm definitely looking forward to the other intricacies of the game as well. But we rooks have to start somewhere :)

I'm in the "blitz level 3s with a battleship rather than struggle with level 4s" camp, specifically with the Mach.

I'd like to add:
You can lose ships doing level IV's. Level III"s are much safer and blitzing them can generate pretty good ISK.
The bench mark for moving up, is when losing your first BS won't be a devastating blow.

Stick with a battlecruiser in level 3's while training tech 2 guns and move into a legion, then into wormholes \o/

A good assault frig can do a lot of L3s as well and can be a ton of fun. Not very efficient or for the new player but an alternate way to break the mission grind up.

i would recomand to stay with l3 till u can pull something like this efficiently.
ps it is ultra fitting skill intensive, and was only meant for a module overview where my l4 missions became more efficient than l3.
