Glad to hear it's going the positive route and they managed to remove the cancer so effectivly! Keep it up and beat those last few remaining cancer-cells eve-style! Don't go for a fair fight, go all in and throw everything you got (and can get) in your arsenal against them! Make them regret they choose you in the first place!

I'm officially home and attempting to play EVE.

I don't think I'll have that much of a battle tbh. I mean, I'm feeling quite 'off' tonight, but probably only cuz I just came out of surgery today. Definitely having a very early bed time tonight. I haven't begun any proper treatment just yet, that starts after the weekend, but the surgery was really easy to get through, apart from some discomfort. Other than that, I can't say what I'm in for. I've got two follow up checkups to go to, one in six months and then another six months after that. Chemo is supposed to be supplementary, and it's going to be a rather short regime for me apparently. Apparently, I got very lucky. Stomach cancers are difficult to detect as early as mine was found.

I do know what I've been through though - while the physical trauma hasn't been stacks on for me, the psychological trauma has been fairly high. I don't really have many people to help me through it, and I never realised it before but just being told you have cancer is like getting slapped in the face while simultaneously taking a taser charge in the back - it was like a shock went down my spine and I went all flush. I was broken for days.

I'm feeling very optimistic, to be honest, and I probably can't say I know what other cancer victims are going through. I don't think I'll ever be able to lay claim to the suffering of those that have had it much worse than me. It's not over for me yet though, and I'm still personally nervous that it's still creeping around inside me somewhere waiting for the doctors to stop watching or something, I dunno. Tonight, I'm just doing a little ratting and taking it easy.

I don't know you but I wish you well.

When you've been through serious illness it can leave you with a renewed appreciation for even the smallest things in life.

For example, one day you might see me in my defenceless T1 explorer filled with loot and think, "Oh, there's that Kotch guy from the forum. I'm going to gank him and take his stuff." But then you'll see how truly wonderful and joyous it would be to let me go, because **** cancer.

Hehe.... nah. If someone were to spare me in-game just because I had cancer, I'd be VERY disappointed in their inability to separate the game from reality.

And rightly so. Besides, this is EVE, the chances of that happening are fairly slim anyway P
