Hi Evelings. As some of you may or may not be aware, I was diagnosed with a stomach cancer a few weeks ago. Earlier today, I underwent an endoscopic mucosal resection. I'm currently recovering, my mum was awesome and brought me my laptop so I can play games and troll Failbook while I'm in for recovery and observation over the coming days. I can't log on right now, I'm really really tired, but I'm mailing my friends in game through EVE gate and thought I'd share the good news here as well.

Apparently, they got it before it 'metastasised' is the word I'm looking at on this little clipboard here, so I may or may not need any further serious treatment, but they're giving me some drugs and taking some blood tests in the morning to be sure. Anyway, for now, my prognosis is exceptional and I should be back home some time after the weekend.

EDIT: Feel free to move this to OOPE, I'm really tired, not thinking straight, and have GD bookmarked so it's kinda habit to come here.

Glad to hear the prognosis so far looks good. Good luck man, cancer is a *****. I don't want to be a downer and really, you can't worry about things out of your control, but do not let your guard down until they tell you "You are cancer free."

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

I'll be going back to sleep in a few minutes, I'm just updating some other friends on various fora and then I'm out. I probably won't get around to reading many of the replies until tomorrow afternoon but, thanks guys, and thanks in advance to everyone else.

Hope your recovery and the future goes well. If a misplaced post is the worst thing that comes of this, you're doing rather well. o7

Yay Reme, I'm glad you're doing well! Stomach cancer can be a killer, so great on the excellent prognosis.

"Metastasised" just means "spread". Catching cancer before it spreads is a key goal in good outcomes. You'll likely have a few chemo rounds just to make sure.

Since I don't know what chemo agents you'll be getting, you get the generic advice. Eat as much as you can tolerate (within doctors orders), and get outside and be as active as tolerated (again, within doc orders). Worst thing for someone doing chemo to do is stay in bed constantly and not eat.

7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided. --Eve New Player Guide

I hope that the doctor's obliterate that ****.

And if any is left...

Use your will power to purge it from your body.

Stay strong, dude. You are in my thoughts.
