Fellow space citizens,

As many of you know, CCP has now made two balance passes at mining ships. It is clear at this point that balance has not been achieved. The once might hulk has been relegated to the dust heap. Of the remaining ships, the lowly procurer has become the clear favorite. Not only is it the best mining ship in every respect, but CCP has also allowed it to be weaponized.

This once peaceful mining vessel has been allowed to be come a wagon of death. As the above example demonstrates, it is able to put out over 120000 points of damage resulting in the death of fleet command ships and not just any fleet command ship but an orca which as everyone knows is a killer whale.

Clearly CCP has gone too far. A single 10mil isk ship should not be able to mine ice while simultaneously dealing death to a 600mil ship. A further balancing pass is necessary. I suggest that procurers have their drone bandwidth cut. Presently they are able to control 2 mediums and one small. Clearly this is too much. One medium is all that a procurer needs for highsec defense. This purely defensive mining vessel should not be allowed to slowly morph into a offensive weapon any further.

What if they choose not to mine in hi-sec?

We literally just covered this a week ago. The Skiff/Procurer get drone damage bonus to help kill belt rats, but have tiny holds. The Retriever/Mack get ore hold capacity and the Hulk/whatever the hell the t1 version is gets the best yeild.

That is a hilarious related killmail though.

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

What if the Orca pilot wasn't AFK?

For that Procurer to be able to do that amount of Damage with Hammers, there has got to be more to this story.

First : 2 medium and 1 small drone is not an optimal set up, 5 small drones are far more effective in terms of damage and mobility. Second : The BW hasn't changed, just the bay size.

Agreed Big smile The Procurer isn't OP, but stupidity is.

Next question : What if the Orca pilot had actually finished fitting his ride? Empty rig slots on an Orca is laughably bad.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

So the barge points an orca and blows it up.

Lets look at this scenario.

0.5 system

Are both these chars at war with each other?

was the orca yellow after looting the barge's can.

If the orca had drones im assuming the procurer blew them up with his drones

TBH its hilarious

Looks to me like the lone procurer grew tired of the orca's oppressive leadership and overthrew him, becoming the dominant male in the belt.

Ok. Well . . . the procurer pilot is a friend of mine and he told me that he was happily mining away, when for some reason or other he decided take from a wreak that had been sitting there a while. Why he did this, who knows? Perhaps, it was the sleep deprivation from sitting in an ice belt all day. Anyways, shortly thereafter, another friend thought it would be funny to point and shoot him in a battle badger, so he started shooting back.

As these two friends are screwing around and amusing themselves, about 2/3 of the miners in the belt (he says like 10-15 ships including the orca) decided to unload on the procurer. Apparently, these miners are very organized and have hidden channels of communication that allow them to coordinate. Fortunately, this procurer was not your usual procurer but rather a mining barge of flaming death. The procurer, being very op, was able to shake off the incoming dps from the many barges while simultaneously mine ice and point and web the orca. Why does a procurer need a point and web? Well, according to my friend, its so the belt rats dont get away. Anyways, the various barges after a considerable time decided that they could not break this procurer and gave up leaving the orca to its fate. A very few of these barge pilots switched to combat ships but it was no good, they also couldnt break this procurer, even though two of them made the ultimate sacrifice to concord.

Despite my friends request to the orca pilot that this matter be resolved amicably without further violence, the orca pilot decided to bring in a guardian for reps. Strangely though, the guardian did not notice the Lachesis that was sitting off the orca giving it a friendly nudge every now and then.

With the guardian gone, the massive dps of the procurer of doom would not be denied. All of the orca's drones were killed and its fate was sealed, proving once and for all the procurer is true big fish of the mining belts.

On a related note: is this a harbinger of the end for Nulli Secunda?!?!

OMG , I wish i had a web cam so you could see me laughing right now. Of course that kill mail is gonna get nixed from here because of forum rules, but that's freaking hilarious.

That wa sin high sec, their HAD to be a war dec or limited engagement or in the same fleet for that to have happened, no way a Pro suicide ganked an orca lol.

Also, I use this time to plug DJ Erroch's EVE Radio weekly event, the "Industrial Revolution" where we go out and kills stuff with mining ships and haulers.
