Please document the file format for the test scenes, so eve movie makers can use this to make awesome movies!

There are some issues with the tools we use for setting up the animations. We either need to find a way of making those tools available to EVE movie makers or change our approach, so we can't do this for the first release, but we'll take this under consideration.

EVE Probe then gathers performance data, such as frame times and memory usage and sends that back to our server, along with your machine specs and display settings.

I hope that it also logs GPU temperatures.
Sometimes you just warp-in to some random dungeon with one LCS and couple of asteroids and GPU temp start rising rapidly like you playing latest shooter on max settings.

I hear there will be a CQ shower scene benchmark.

Here is an idea. Let us "record" scenes from the game and play them back with EVE Probe.

Yes - an EVE "Battlerecorder" (a la Battefield 2142) would be most excellent. luv u long time

That's like, 100% outside the scope of what Eve Probe is supposed to do.

Would love if the probe gave some sort of score number on how good the puter is, I think the community might love comparing how good their hardware is, by who has the biggest score. Also would be cool if it was possible to run multiple instances, to see how many clients the computer could handle.

Additional feature could be recommended settings for EVE once the analysis is complete.

Yep, they forgot to mention multiple accounts holders, the single client on max graphic settings isn't same when you have 2,3,4...etc. clients opened, your PC starts to slow down and your FPS starts to tank. Although I have solution to release the stress on the 8 cores I found by accident but they need to look into this.

Lady Areola Fappington:  Solo PVP isn't dead!  You just need to make sure you have your booster, remote rep, cyno, and emergency Falcon alts logged in and ready before you do any solo PVPing.

No, no and no.

There are already such benchmarking tools out there, so CCP does not need to waste developer time getting into the hardware epeen comparison business.

Our focus will squarely be on making EVE Probe useful for us to improve the stability and performance of EVE. That in turn translates into a better experience for you, the players - we have no intentions of turning EVE Probe into a generic benchmarking suite.

But telling me the average fps WILL improve my experience.

Right now, I try to adjust the graphics settings to give me a good looking game while still having a reasonable fps. But many changes to the settings cause a small fps change. Depending on what I am looking at, the fps can bounce about quite a bit, masking the effects of the change. It makes evaluating what different settings do for me quite hard. If you gave me an objective number, it would be much easier for me to optimize my settings, resulting in my having a better experience.

Longer term, the plan is to have a way of having EVE Probe guide graphics settings for the EVE client so you can run EVE Probe and have settings selected automatically based on those results.

Has there been any thought of having the graphics settings auto-configure based on target FPS?

So for example, I might say, "I want 40 FPS" and the actual game will automatically adjust graphics detail and number of effects in order to keep FPS as close to 40 as possible?

Will there be an option to run multiple clients of the probe? I run 3 Eve clients now, but i use to run up to 12. I think it would be good to offer this option of "Emulate X clients"

How is it going to automatically read my mind and figure out what I think looks good? There may be choices and compromises I am willing to make, and without control and objective feedback, I cannot make them.

CCP, please, please, in general, please stop telling us what we want.

We'll make sure to solicit feedback before we start thinking about this feature - we're getting into very speculative things here. I certainly don't want to read anyone's mind.

On topic: This is very nice to hear! When it was mentioned at FF I immediately thought it a very good idea. Glad to see it get out in the wild this summer.

Has anyone at CCP thought of the advertising/affiliate potential of this. For example If I choose to send a friend a copy of the eve probe software or download link so he can see how eve looks and that guy later signs up, can I haz goodies?

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

My game runs fine with 32 accounts at once on low settings.

Edit: Can we run multiple copies of the EvE Probe at once?
