8 years today but lacking in bitterness

Never have I played a single game or done any one thing in particular for this long (other than breath and the related functions with it).

8 years.

within that time:
One marriage came (and went)
One LTR
moved 13 times
several jobs

For the game, I've still only seen or experienced at best 30 percent of the content. And IMO there's nothing wrong with that. I don't get to visit every country and do every job in RL either.

Been into science fiction since before I could read, watching STTOS rerun every Saturday at 6PM until they stopped airing them when I turned 18. I had the Spock shirt. A friend had the Captain Kirk shirt.

So all this really is, is a sci-fi fix, for I have not cared for any series since Lexx went off the air in 2002.

I'm not going anywhere, but I hope to see this game expand in the next 8 years into something more than just a game. This has the potential to be a new way to consume science fiction - more than just reading stories or watching movies about it - but to be in it.

Thank you Eve, for being one of the few stable things in life, and for being entertaining and for all the "oh crap" moments that were not necessarily viewed, for my benefit, from the outside in. Oops. I'll never get this game right, but that's not what I'm here for.

Big smile

I just came back after being gone almost 2 years.

I don't see me staying but I'd say you managed to avoid what I didn't, gratz to you for that.

It's less about bitter, I just let others set the bar for me and it was way too high for the amount of time I was willing to dump in to the game and now most of the game is lost to me.

Happy birthday Big smile

I agree with some of the points, but in terms of player content there's a LOT already there. It doesn't all have to be generated by CCP.

A fun but strange show, I didn't enjoy the last couple of seasons, but it was nice to see something original.

And I don't know if your last name is one of those randomly generated ones, but it is pretty neat. Herzog isn't a name I've heard before either.

Wolfhammer is a name that goes back to when I was playing the D&D box set (when it was in stores for the first time, this old man must admit). Still got the d10, d20, d4, d8, etc.

Herzog is derived from the game Herzog Zwei - a game I used to play a lot of back in the Sega Genesis days.

Cheers! You've been around ever so slightly longer than I. There is a teeny bit of bitterness with me, but hey no other game seems to come anywhere near close to Eve! Hope to see everyone around here for years to come!

I discovered EVE *after* getting a divorce. Ironically, it has helped in a way. It certainly helped keep me entertained and mentally awake when all I really felt like doing was crawling into a deep dark bottle!

I should point out that, depending on whom you talk to, EVE is worse than alcoholism.

Regardless, happy birthday Herzog.

Nonsense. Eve has helped me not completely fail to quit smoking. All those keyboard commands keep my fingers too busy.

Blue was Expert, Red was the Basic

(Brown or White was the original - sadly I still have it)
