Proximity alert sounds are sounds that will highlight the important information that is happening on the battlefield, for example somebody is aligning to warp to you or whenever somebody is burning toward you at full speed all of a sudden etc.

You can set and customize which alarm notifications you would like to receive, few examples of sound notifications that could be useful:
- target is aligned toward you
- target is attempting to orbit you at 30km
- 'enemy that is at 50 km is closing in on you fast'
- hostile is moving toward you 3.000m/s transversal
- target is moving away
- your target is aligning toward a stargate
- your target is trying to warp away
etc. etc.
The sound can simply be the same as the existing 'low on shields sound' or the other option is something like in the movies where the warning sounds are voices giving you info about what is happening.

Alternatively these sounds can also be followed by a blinking and flashing of the important information that you are looking for. For example if somebody is burning toward me at 3.000m/s transversal, that information will be highlighted by some flashy blinking effect

So you want to be able to tell exactly what another ship is fitted with and exactly what they are doing.

EVE might not be the game for you.

Also it would be nice with voice warnings against sniper fitted ships or any other things that surprize and catch people offguard. Perhaps the target is using a 100mn afterburner etc.

So I'll say it again

You want to know the fittings of nearby ships.

If you have an alarm going off telling you that someone has a sniper setup or is using an afterburner you are effectively wanting the game to tell you their ship fits.

lol you dont get it...
Actually the voice wont warn you against anything you cant already find out by visually check it out.
For example I can obviously check if somebody is using artillary or tachyons, or if somebody is closing in at me at 3.000m/s...
so your 'arguments' are not really valid here, and you are really quick to be offensive against me for some reason... chill m8 and also maybe make better arguments before you tell them to quit the game?Lol

You are terrible. Every single idea you post is terrible. I do not think you are capable of having a single good idea. This is yet another bad idea from you.

If you can do all of that on your own, why not do it then? The greatest benefit to this would be to the botters who watch a movie while leaving the sound on the computer.

I'm glad you asked, finally a reasonable argument.
I can think of many good reasons to have more sound option.
The most important reason being, that most people who actually have experience doing pvp, will appreciate any additional 'warning signs' that will let them make sure they didnt miss out on any tactical information.
Also if you look at movies such as star wars or many other countless movies, you will see that you are conditioned to enjoy those good old warning soundsLol

so your 'arguments' are not really valid here,

So you are saying the ship scanner module has a range of over 100km?

You should only get the warning if the enemy ship is within range of a ship scanner AND you have one fitted. If not then you are wanting the game to tell you the fit of the weapons being used and if they can hit you.

Now if you had worded your OP to state that the warnings would only occur if you had a ship scanner, perhaps modified so it a passive module and takes up more PG and CPU, then I might go for this. After all what PvPer gimps their ship with a ship scanner?

You just want an instant intel gathering system so you don't have to gimp your PvP setup and can have an advantage.

You sure?

The only way to know what weapons someone is using is to use a ship scanner!

It is now obvious that you are an idiot since a troll would have stopped posting a long time ago when they were proven wrong.

So you can continue to post like an idiot or you can suck it up like a real man and shut the **** up!!

only thing i can see happening is a warning about a ship decloaking on your grid, now that would be somewhat more usefull and alot more reasonable.

alot more reasonable? now thats a question of perspective.. personally I often engage bigger fleets and i would benefit more by having a well timed warning that targets are aligning for a warp, or if somebody is burning toward me at full speed. Sometimes one misses a small detail and you're dead

As many other people say, the UI in eve is outdated and at times kind of boring. Adding more sound options is the an easy fix, and potentially a good preliminary change to the whole UI system in eve.

Please tell me how new turret graphics will allow me to know when a ship has an afterburner or is aligning to my ship?

If that is true then how is it possible to

If the UI sucks so badly how is it possible to tell when somebody is closing in at 3000m/s?

So it is now obvious you are an not just a troll or an idiot. You are an idiot troll.

there's a low shield sound? wow i really must turn sound on its been off now since late 03,

while some of your idea's sound nice the application based on today's game reality would result in your audio queue becoming a mess of unintelligible gibberish.

imagine a small gang of 20 alpha tempests hitting your grid, holy #### it would be a nightmare, hud filters are bad enough now , imagine the micromanagement you would need on your voice filters.

One thing I like about your ideas is that they can be made to give you a video indicator, if your fighting many say 50 v 50 sometimes its hard to pick out your ws'ed or bubbled would be nice to have an effects master indicator, instead of the little symbol that comes up on the hud from the player doing the action.

Anyway your right in one thing the eve ui is getting a bit outdated and its a real pain to get everything into a 19" display.

I do a lot of pvp and the constant noises would annoy me tbh.

If one is alert, he/she can surmise much of this without noise alerts.

Program like this was done by several alliances and actively used for years until CCP found out and changed access to the client.

The reason behind banning it was 3rd party program but aviable only for few selected people. However if it would be done by CCP and was public and just changed to hostile notification alert then it would be ok.
