Mythbusters: The Apocryphon

"My word lies within all,
All it requires is the breath of faith,
To ignite the fire,
So the lost can find their way,
So the fallen can rise,
To take their place as my chosen,
For you are all my creation,
And are all equal in my kingdom."

— The Apocryphon

Myth: The Apocryphon abrogates previous Scripture.
Fact: The Apocryphon does not abrogate one iota of Holy Amarrian Scripture. Indeed, note the similarity of the Apocryphon to the following quotation from the canonical Scripture's Book of Trials:
"All things were created by the Divine, and so the glory of our faith is inherent to us all;
When thine heart shines with the Light, thou shalt know no hardship;
When thine actions are in Light's name, thou art immortal."

— The Scriptures, Book of Trials 2:1

Myth: The Apocryphon says all races are equal.
Fact: Like the canonical Scriptures, the Apocryphon divides the world into “Chosen” and “Not Chosen”. The Not Chosen are called “lost” and “fallen”; in order to become Chosen according to the Apocryphon, these require a “breath of faith”. Unlike the “word”, the “breath of faith” is not present within everyone, and without it a people remains “lost” and “fallen” like the Minmatar.

All races, of course, had heard the Word of God, but only the Amarr obeyed it. Only they, because they had the “breath of faith” and stayed true to the faith, avoiding heresy and blasphemy, became the Chosen, according to the Scriptures:
"Our Lord visited his flock and saw that all was not good.
Blasphemy and heresy ruled the land.
The Lord punished the sinners and drowned them in their own blood.
But the people of Amarr lived righteously and in fear of God.
Thus they were saved and became God's chosen."

— The Scriptures, Book II 2:1

Myth: The Apocryphon says all people are equal.
Fact: The last two lines of the Apocryphon text proclaim nothing at odds with the strict hierarchy of man as proclaimed in the canonical Scriptures:
As Garrulor rules the skies; as Frisceas rules the sea;
As Emperor rules Holder; as Holder rules Serf;
Yet all under Heaven serve Me;
So shall Amarr rule the worlds of the Heavens.

— The Scriptures, Book of Reclaiming 3.19 - 3.21
That God would say, “you are all my creation” can hardly be considered a statement on the equality of man, for Fedos and Slaver Hound fleas are also God's creation, and surely they are not equal to holders and Emperors. That God would say, “all are equal in my kingdom” says nothing about those outside the kingdom, a group which must include at least all those outside the faith. Indeed, even within the faith, Sani Sabik have not held an expansive definition of equality, as nearly all such groups identify savants, persons (like myself) of superior intellect and spiritual insight meant to serve as rules and leaders. I suspect that the “kingdom” mentioned in the Apocryphon is actually Paradise.

Myth: It is OK to be Minmatar.
Fact: As we have seen, nothing in the Apocryphon has given any hope to the Minmatar, a filthy subhuman people whom God has given over to destruction.

Nauppie still trying to validate his faith while discrediting already established practices?

Give him this, he's got a set of stones..... I'm puzzled as to why the theology council hasn't relived him of them yet.

Myth: Being a blooder makes you cool and edgy.

Fact: No it doesn't and it could condemn your soul to eternal misery.

Uhmm, excuse me sir but that's really quite nasty.

And kinda not accurate either. I can confirm I am completely human and as for "filthy" well I shower twice per day and, thanks to the example set by my Achuran colleagues, I take pride in being really well groomed and mannered. In fact I'd bet I'm much healthier and cleaner than you!

It's not nice to generalize or to make stereotype thingies.

I can tell you on firsthand authority that it is awesome to be Minmatar.

And if our active times coincided, I would show you exactly why that is.

Tiberious Thessalonia's standard reply to anything I say or write is a request that I be run through a so-called "gauntlet". As I am not a member of the Blood Raider Covenant, I am not familiar with this practice. The implication is that it is some kind or torturous initiation rite. I request that Tiberious Thessalonia provide further explanation as to how I would benefit from this rite.

Note that while the Blood Raiders have preserved some truths about God, they have also gone astray in some areas, notably their operation of Pleasure Hubs, an affront to God's holy eyes. Thus, it cannot be assumed that any particular Blood Raider tradition would be to my spiritual benefit.

You can clean every speck of dirt from your skin, but your soul remains hideously blackened with Minmatarness, and God shall not permit one gram of Minmatarness into Paradise.

That, and the tribal tattoos. For the sake of your eternal salvation, pod yourself out of them at once.

It would show that you are strong enough to take it. If you claim to be a prophet of the Sani Sabik you ought to be tested on that basis, no?

You're too generous. I give this nonsense 0.0025/10.

P.S. Naups please stop being terrible and getting shot out of the sky so often. My inbox is getting filled with your kill reports. Thanks.

It is Written:
"Only through many hardships
Is a man stripped to his very foundations
And in such a state
Devoid of distractions
Is his soul free to soar
And in this
He is closest to God"
- The Scriptures, Book of Missions 42:5

I don't think the Sani Sabik want him initiated into their ranks..... It would make them look bad.

Negative. It is my ISK to lose. And the lives of my filthy Minmatar subhuman slave-crew is mine to lose too, whether in combat or in the ancient rite of Decimation that I performed on my slaves the other day.

Either way, I don't believe you actually do what you do. Probably all just one, big, edgy show for the hell of it.

No.

Souls are "hideously blackened" by choices, not by birth. If this young woman truly wishes to devote herself to God, who are you to say that she will be denied?

You never have, and never will, represent the Amarr Empire, nor the true faith.

You are the laughing stock of the cluster, and an infected, oozing, reeking boil to the Faithful.

I would be truly saddened for your soul, if you were not a depraved psychopath, driven by mere vanity and pride.

Your soul is a rotting, rancid, disease-ridden graveyard, filled with the most foul of pestilence and the most vile of fallacies.

Crawl back into whatever excrement-filled hole you came from, and biomass yourself, heretic.

Your doing so cannot happen soon enough.
