Seamus, thanks very much for the detailed instructions, this is very helpful as usual. However, I was under the impression that changing the PrefsFolderName setting would change the folder under Application Support which the client would use to store all its files - in fact it seems that the client always reverts to using the basic "EVE Online" folder there, creating all sorts of wonky effects. Did I miss something?

Hi.

The fix worked for me today. I renamed the config file and was able to log back onto TQ.

NOTE - This started when I updated singularity and was prompted with the TOS accept screen on my first login. I was not able to actually click accept as it looked like I was forwarded to the character selection screen before I could do anything.

The symptom was that I could log in via the login screen (to TQ) but Eve did not then start a new app in the app bar at the bottom like it usually does. I tried the Eve Repair tool and this did not also work.

My other computers that don't have Singularity still worked fine on TQ.... no issue on login failure.

Hope this helps...

I forgot to mention: Once you finish fiddling around with the files as I've described, DO NOT LAUNCH EVE ONLINE. This will open the EVE Online Launcher, then the Launcher will detect that something has changed, and then the Launcher will revert your change, and THAT breaks everything again.

Instead, to play the game you must always launch the EVE Online (the actual game) that's inside your EVE Online (the Launcher).

This screenshot may help explain.

Awesome, thanks Seamus. I should have thought about that.

I've uploaded a video with instructions on this matter. YouTube is still processing it, but it should appear at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFFPX3nhREk when it's done.

Hey all,

I've been catching up on the various feedback threads regarding the Launcher issues that people are experiencing after they have connected to Singularity.

We played around with a couple of fixes in the test lab with our Macs and would like to get people to try the following:

1. Open Terminal (From Applications > Utilities).
2. In the resulting Terminal window type the following then hit ENTER: "open Library"
3. You should now have the Library open in a finder window, find the folder called "Application Support" and open it.
4. Find the "EVE Online" folder and open it.
5. Find the file called "config". Rename it to something different like oldconfig.
6. Run your TQ Launcher
7. Attempt to log in to TQ.
8. Success or Failure? Post in this thread please.

this did not work for me.

My clients all froze up earlier today and when i tried to log back in the launcher loads and lets me put the pw in but then does not proceed any further.

i tried your fix and this didn't work.

i have had no issues up until today.

help?

Yes, this fixed it.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

<--- (computer (apple) noob) I don't understand the steps to install singularity, they are to short, and simply cause i don't know all these files, what is what and what not to do and ..... is there a very basic long step by step in words explanation how i should do all this stuff ? And i mean step by step so like do this click this,.... from like starting the computer to all the way playing the singularity on mac. I already play eve and ive downloaded the new client again https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Singularity#Mac:_Manual_Sisi_Client_Installation
just like in these steps but im stuck with the terminal thing -,- and my computer says that my download is broken all the time
maybe im saying stupid stuff or nonsense but i just don't know anything about this stuff, so I need help. Also my computer is in dutch which makes it not easier with all the english help :p

I need like a person who plays EVE on apple and can guide me through the process with a chat or a teamspeak or something :p that would be super amazing ! lol Lol

done whole this from the eve website : https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Singularity#Mac:_Manual_Sisi_Client_Installation

Install another copy of EVE Online (download the client here http://www.eveonline.com/download/)

Rename that to "EVE Online Singularity" or something of your choice

Using Finder go to Applications > EVE Online > More Info OR Applications > EVE Online (right click) Get Info
In the Name & Extensions Tab, enter the name of your choice. Example: EVE Online Singularity.app

Open a Terminal window
easiest way to do this is to use Spotlight (cmd + space) and type terminal into the search field

In the Terminal window type 'open', then drag and drop your Sisi client into it and add ' --args /server:87.237.38.50'
should look similar to this: "open /Applications/EVE\ Singularity.app --args /server:87.237.38.50"

but then im stuck : what next press ENTER in the terminal, or do the dock installing thing :p with the automator which is weird, I don't get it how i can launch the thing ive downloaded.
