Lowsec, too large, too stupid

Tell me about it, brah. An hour lead-in to a 7-second 1v6 totally spacepic...

Lowsec's broke. Dead horse kicking, I know. But maybe something'll give over at ccp.

And here we go with the "ruin other players' game to cater to my niche desires" ideas.

No, the game is not broken just because you can't get what you want to the letter out of it. CCP does not have to change jack **** to compensate for you not having more friends than other people. It's a sandbox, do it yourself.

"Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

One of ours, ten of theirs.

Best Meltdown Ever.

I don't play well with others. Got a problem w/ me complaining? Your problem, not mine.

Pis poor sandbox if it can't handle how I want to manage my toys, don't you think?

in eve you are the match maker

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Back when I used to log in more than once a month I'd head to lowsec sometimes & just look for people to fight. I never got those fair 1v1 space e-bushido fights that new pilots dream of but I always had fun. Computer games are about having fun.

A 1 v 6 fight that lasts a few seconds isn't exclusive to lowsec. It happens in nullsec and highsec. That's just the basic Eve mechanic. Because there is no restrictions that force a "fair fight" the side that has more ships has a higher chance of winning. I don't know about you but I like to win... I don't even care about killboards.

Nobility has nothing to do with it.

There are 3 reasons to PVP, imo:

1) to hunt

2) to conquer or defend territory or assets

3) just to fight

Only #1 always entails overwhelming force.

#2 can be worth trying even against the odds (especially if you're defending)

#3 is up to each player. I personally prefer 5 losses, 4 evenly matched kills and maybe 1 great kill (outnumbered/outshipped) than 10 easy kills and zero losses. It's just more fun for me.

Also, it's much easier to find fights if you're willing to let the other guy(s) have a small advantage.

Wow just no.
There was this guy in a tornado blapping frigs in lowsec. I saw him when passing throughin my bomber.
He was at 100 from the gate in line with the station!
Warp to station, back to gate at 100.
He's warping back to station, quick quick, warp to station at 100!
He had a ping up high, then docked.
Put him on watchlist, slide into his area whenever i see him online.
Ten days later he's blapping frigates and warps at 100 one too many times, i have him pointed painted and torps are applied. His mighty BS snipers are useless, he's already saying well played in local as his shields go out.
Then i think: what is the right thing to do here?
Of course i tell the rest of the corp to warp to me at zero, legion, 2 ishtars, loki, 2 guardians, thrasher and two comets all get on the pod mail. Dem implants.
SO MUCH BRAH-BACKSLAPPING.
Ensure homogeny indeed.

Goggles. Making me look good. Making you look good.

Part of roaming solo in lowsec is being very, very selective in what you engage.

Or just take a #YOLO attitude, like I sometimes do. "An Astarte in a belt, that can't possibly be anything but a trap and I know I can't counter-escalate - oh well, let's shoot it anyway".

Also this sandbox has (shocker) other people in it, and they can do what they want too, 'cos it's a sandbox

It's just natural that there is an advantage in working together.
The lone wolf has to be more patient, more observant and has to think farther ahead. Isn't that the appeal of being the lone wolf? Going against the odds and proving you are the man.

I like how you basically say "I want to change the sandbox. If it's bad after the change, the sandbox is 'pis poor'" .. maybe you shouldn't change it, then.

Fair fight in low sec. No, it wasn't blobs. It was a guy being repped more than likely. Or, two buddies in the wings.

I'm sorry, low sec attracts the same kind of guys who hang outside the front door tuggin' on ciggy butts,
and snidely snarlin' at anything that moves as being not cool enough for them.

You don't hang out in a parking lot. Why hang in low sec? Come to think of it...is there a point to low sec? I mean, besides having a place for punks to pretend they be sumbuddy...? Guys that say things like "brah" 'cause they thought it was cool when they heard it fifteen years ago...brah...yolo...do you even lift...umadbro...et. al.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

I've been blobbed sure, not today but in the past. I was legitimately looking for a fight and there was no fight to be found after an hour - only shuttles and a 6 cruiser gate camp my ruppie got lucky was mid-jump when I landed on the other side. Was I scared...yeah which is ok. Was I willing to suicide just to see some action...yeah which is not right.

Lowsec is a place of humility and patience if you're solo, may as well be mining asteroids in highsec.

edit: I've tried to break into a lowsec rhythm for many years now and nothing seems to have changed with it. It's tedium for little thrill. Wrong game probably. o7

Well, if you go solo in a cruiser its your own fault... Frigates are what gives you solo fights in low sec, no gang would bother going for them. Cruisers is for 2-5 people normally and if you have friends, you can get lots of not fair, but even fights. (One side will usually be a lot better than the other, meaning they need less ships)
