Annnnnnd I've spent it all... already. That was fast. The good news is that a single transaction from today's sales net me 48% of the total interest on this loan. A different item, which I am having to wait 3 more days to produce because it has ridiculous skill requirements, already has its BPC and materials ready to go.

Just two days into this loan, and the stats are already proving to me that I can both fully utilize and greatly profit from this level of capital.

I have been playing with a lot of fancy EVE tools lately, and I have a pretty graph for you guys showing my wallet balance and assets. I am a little wealthier than I thought! xD

I have a really fun business plan for the near future. It is a whole other project, though, and will require more capital than I can spare right now. It also has its own logistical needs and some increased risks. It involves expansion into some new markets. It is something I used to do on a small scale many years ago, but I am quite curious to see how well I could run it now.

Sorry to be so vague. I like talking about this stuff, but I am too paranoid and greedy to give out specific details. Oh, EVE industrialism, you make me so lonely sometimes. But the warmth of your ISK is so nice.

That is all for now, investors. Expect bonuses, because I think it will be a good month.

Pretty cool, right? I love how the points even show the density of transactions causing balance changes over time.

The background is the "Balance Graph" from EVE Mentat, and the pie chart can be found on the "Today" tab of the same program. Watch out for the super-annoying, fake download ads.

The asset evaluation table is from jEveAssets.

Summary

Good evening, investors and readers of MD. I hope you are enjoying your fancy new outfits and ORE Prospects. I have prepared my first weekly update for the Goat2 business fund. Things are going more or less as expected, with a few minor delays. Profits and sales are excellent, nonetheless, and I am excited to see where I will stand at the end of this month.

Interest Payment to Trader Frank

15,000,000 ISK interest has been paid to Trader Frank at 2014.06.05 01:48 UTC as part of a modified repayment schedule. (Details below.)

Modified Repayment Schedule

During in-game negotiations, Trader Frank and I came to a modified agreement regarding the repayment schedule for this loan. We have agreed that I will pay back 25% of the interest each week and 33% of the principal on weeks 2, 3, and 4.

This was to lessen the risk assumed by Frank, seeing as how I am new to handling public funds. It also ensures that I am using the money correctly and collecting a rapid profit with the investment. While this does mean slightly less principal to utilize towards the end of the loan term, I want to be flexible with investors. I appreciate the risk you are taking on a EVE forum newbie like me, and I thank you for your support. I look forward to the challenge of proving myself a capable business mogul.

Performance Statistics - Week One

With EVE manufacturing being a game of ratios, growth has been accelerating more and more quickly as I increase the scale of my business. I never dreamed of tossing around so much ISK or obtaining a net worth of over 10 billion. When you reach the greatest heights in your lifetime, it is time to fly even higher.

I have discovered a number of wonderful tools, including jEveAssets and EVE Mentat, which have enabled me to start tracking my wealth over time. I plan to start a long-term record of financial gains in lieu of an in-game achievement system. I only have a few days of net asset value data so far and balance tracking going back a few weeks.

Challenges Encountered

Who Keeps Using All The Copier Paper!?

One major challenge I have faced is getting my stocks of T1 and T2 BPCs replenished. It has been a while since I had access to a POS, and I used up almost every last profitable BPC since then. I have kept the copy slots filled as much as possible with plenty more to make, but I am catching up. Invention takes a lot of time, as well, especially when working with larger-class modules. This is a big reason I cannot wait for Crius and its promise of faster copy times.

Downtime Insurance

Speaking of updates, Kronos caused a minor disruption to operations yesterday. To protect myself against the possibility of an “extra-extended” downtime, I swapped a short-term skill for a 22 day skill. The one I had been training is the last thing holding me up from producing a highly-profitable, new item, Product X. Nevertheless, I am now only 14 hours from finishing that up and beginning production.

From PotatoNet to Nyan Cat HD

The update also kept me out of game most of the day yesterday. With my university’s 1 Mbps internet (yes, you read correctly), it felt like the patch took hours to complete. Not only has my internet been slow, it has also been disconnecting at random, often dozens of times per day. This problem has been definitively resolved by getting my own cable internet service. I am now able to play EVE uninterrupted at a blazing 107 Mbps down / 5 Mbps up. And it is good.

Just A Few More Billion And I’d Be Good..

Despite working with the largest sums of my EVE career, I am still selling out of goods much faster than I can afford to replace stock. The items I am working with are just so expensive (300 - 750 million now), making a meager batch quickly depletes material stocks until the next cycle of sales. Of course, with every sale, I have a greater amount of total capital, but I estimate it will be some time before this issue ever goes away. There is always a more expensive fish to sell.

The Future, And Beyond!

The copiers will keep scanning away until my new line-up has enough supplies to invent at least a month’s worth of T2 BPCs. There are currently 769 BPCs in their designated container, but that number needs to be a lot higher before I am satisfied.

I plan on upgrading to a medium Caldari POS. This will give me more CPU to work with and more optimal configuration settings. And let’s not forget a few guns, just in case.

Some of my most important plans are out-of-game. EVE economics are ruled by those with the best information. I have some nice automatic data generated through the EVE Central API and a barbaric outbid notifier. Next up will be better automation of ME / TE calculations, material and product stock management and alerts, dynamic decryptor algorithms, and ideally, a sexy British voice to command me to do things.

Pretty soon, my spreadsheets will be playing the game for me, freeing up my time to troll help chat and shoot fireworks at a hub near you.

Thank you, investors, for supporting my most serious internet spaceship enterprise to date.

I have good news and bad news. The goods news is that I am super rich now. The bad news is that I may have corrupted my industrial soul. I sort of impulse-bought 6 PLEX with a 25%-off coupon on the Green Man Gaming site. I justified it in my head as potentially being a "lifetime subscription" purchase.

By injecting ~4.3B ISK into my space business, the odds of me reaching profit levels high enough to easily PLEX before my sub runs out have increased substantially. I feel somewhat guilty about this, since everything I have earned so far has been without using any PLEX's.

It also royally fracks my accounting for this month. I can subtract the amount from my NAV to compensate, but I will never truly know what I would have earned with more restrictive conditions. I suppose this is acceptable, because having more ISK to play with will lead to a greater need for developing my out-of-game tools. It also opens up nerdier and more fun opportunities for business expansion.

Here is a snapshot of my performance before the "Great Bastardization of June 15." I have adjusted the figure to account for the 166.7M that has been repaid, but I did not take out interest payments.

Days Since Loan Began: 16.9
Profits: 1,735,154,667 ISK
Average Daily Profits: 102,574,930 ISK

This puts my projected monthly profits around 3.1B, which is pretty awesome, all things considered. I have been rather lazy this last week with my summer classes starting, so these numbers surprised me.

I am on track to be well-capitalized for the Crius release, and I should have a nice stockpile of materials and BPCs to hit the ground running in July.

186,666,666.68 (186.7 million) ISK sent to Trader Frank at 2014.06.26 02:10 UTC. This an includes an extra 5 million ISK as a token of thanks for taking a chance on a wild space goat like me.

Trader Frank's portion has now been fully repaid, bringing this loan to 50% repaid status. Thank you for your support, Frank! May your interest buy you many Fedo.

Koniforous's portion will be repaid by this Sunday, the 29th, as negotiated. The ISK is already available, but I am milking it for every last million. :) Because milking is what we do here at [UGOAT].

I will do an end-of-loan report once that payment is sent.

2 weeks until two of my classes finish and 3 weeks until Crius. 1 week until I get to eat roasted hog for Independence Day. Vivo la vida bueno. Big smile

Loan is now 100% repaid. Thank you both, Koniforous and Frank! I have been able to accomplish quite a lot this month, and the extra isk really helped me out. I will post my end of loan financial stats after a much-needed nap. :)

I have had an enjoyable time in EVE industry this month. I have earned 3.8 billion ISK in profits and reached a record high of 4.2 billion ISK in manufactured goods for sale at one time. My physical assets are now valued at 13.4 billion, and my total NAV is 18.9 billion. Within a week or two, I should reach the next milestone of 20 billion NAV. :D

Main Stats
Total interest paid out: 130 million
Profit this month: 3,806,879,479 (3.8 billion)
Interest as a percentage of profits: 3.4%
Average daily profit: 123 million

Dealing with multiple billions in liquid ISK is a new experience for me. What is most surprising is how quickly my mind has adapted to it, swiftly punching in a half dozen buy orders of several hundred million each. I still remember the early days when I dreamed of having a few hundred million to buy a Hulk… “Some day I will get there.” And indeed, that podling has evolved into a beautiful space goat. Interaction with EVE’s economy scales quite well, as long as you have the necessary infrastructure to haul massive amounts of m3. PUSH has come in handy on that front.

I clearly have the earning power to PLEX my account now, but it would eat a massive 19% of my monthly profit to do so. I need to keep increasing my ISK throughput until that figure becomes just a few, tidy percentage points.

I plan to reinvest everything I have earned this month back into materials until my manufacturing jobs are maxed and I still have a least a few weeks' supply of materials for subsequent batches. Then, I want to start exploring other markets, like lowsec, nullsec, and border systems. That will be an area which will be capital intensive, slow to return profits, but a great way of increasing my monthly profits beyond their current levels.

I will probably wait a while before considering new business loans, as there is no huge advantage to one at the moment. That may change if I decide to pick up some new BPOs that I have been eyeing. I may still take out a new loan with TAUTX bank in order to work towards securing a stable source of competitively-rated loans. Once Crius comes out next month, all bets are off. Who knows what will happen to industry and what wonderful, new opportunities will arise.

Here are my end-of-loan financial charts and some details on how I calculated my monthly profits:

Start NAV: 11,739,641,000 (11.7 billion) (including 1 billion in investor funds)
End NAV: 18,922,276,478 (18.9 billion) (after principal was repaid)
Change in NAV: 7,182,635,478 (7.1 billion)

Because my beginning NAV figure included the investor funds, I must add that back before calculating a meaningful “change in NAV” figure. I must also remove 4.38 billion ISK, which came from a PLEX injection on June 16. The final figures reflect what I have been able to earn through my in-game manufacturing operation.

7,182,635,478 + 1,000,000,000 - 4,375,755,999 = 3,806,879,479
Modified change in NAV: 3,806,879,479 (3.8 billion)

3,806,879,479 / 30.8 days = 123,588,837
Modified daily change in NAV: 123.5 million
