Don't, seriously. It's not a bad Elder Scrolls game, but it's a poor MMO.

Q: Should we be worried? A: Nope. (...) Worry a lot if Fozzie, Masterplan, Rise, Veritas, Bettik, Ytterbium, Scarpia, Arrow, or even Greyscale leaves. Worry a little if Punkturis, karkur, SoniClover, Affinity, Goliath, or Xhagen leaves.

Are you really upset about the game? Just wondering, since you say you had high hopes for the game, but you didn't care enough to be upset about it months ago when it was still relevant. Sounds to me that you didn't really care or have high hopes for it in the first place and just wanted to post a review which you happened to like. Angry Joe does make entertaining reviews though and they're a joy to watch even if you disagree with his assessment or have no interest in the game.

Personally I didn't have high hopes, since nothing indicated anything noteworthy was coming or even attempted. End results were more or less in line with my expectations. It's not bad, but it isn't great either. Now I can just sit back and wait for the next big MMO to appear on the horizon for people to hang their unrealistic hopes on, only to have them brutally dashed when reality finally pops their bubble.

No.

All games suck when they first come out..but if they continue to suck after a few months (when devs race to fix this or that) then it's not worth it.

I always wait a few months. Granted, this review is a few months old, but it pointed things out I wasnt aware of before since I have yet to play it.

And?

Personally I dont like the presentation. How many "F" bombs can you drop over a game? I posted to share what I found.

Is that OK with you? Roll

I just knew this was going to be a bad game. Ever since those beta reviews started coming out it was clear ESO had big problems. A brief read of the various ESO forums reveals a lot of unhappy customers.

Why,
it wasn't looking good at any point.
There was never anything to make it stand out other than using first person camera.

Tried it when it came out because I'm a fan of the series. Stopped playing it after a week and went back to playing Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim because I get the same (actually better) experience playing them without having to pay $15 a month.

Which Bethsoft only implemented because lots of fans raged about that for weeks, months even, before Bethsoft could be arsed to implement a poorly made first person view.

TESO could have been neat, but then someone in the managment said "Our marketing guys say it has to be like WoW to be a success. Make it like WoW!"

And that basically killed the game before it was even released.

Late EDIT: Also OP has an interesting nose, we should form a club. Big smile

I liked it my first go through to VR1. It's a very pretty game and the story seemed to be pretty good.

Two things I noticed was, despite the voice acting and the ancient and mystical feel to the dialogue, I noticed time and again the storyline seemed to follow a common theme. It's almost as if they had a blank template for each area and they just changed the names and the methods of wrongdoing. I could almost tell you exactly how each quest arch will go: Original questgiver tells you to help with a problem, you go to suspected source of problem, find out its the original questgiver who is the actual evil person, have confrontation, resolution. If it's not the original questgiver it's always someone that was supposed to be on your side.

Another problem was the level of difficulty. 1-49 was a cakewalk. VR levels, particularly around the vr2-5 zones, became exponentially more difficult in certain areas for solo leveling, and the grind from VR1 up was just soul crushing. SOUL. CRUSHING.

I can't honestly tell you what I'd rather endure: leveling VR1 - VR10 or being a pilot in say, B-R5RB from start to finish. It's really a choice of the lesser of two evils.

Now I am leveling with a friend and it is equally soul crushing because now that I've experienced the story the first tiem around I really don't care about it and leveling without that aspect is pretty dull.

Also the quest population may actually be too high, especially combined with their little quest gps system. Nothing is more infuriating than trying to stick with one questline and being bombarded by black arrows from quests all over the place that you don't want to be sidetracked on.

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

Yup. Enter a new area, find the "hidden scout" in plain sight of the hostile npc camp, accept your first quest from that "hidden scout" for that area.

Kill lots of stuff be annoyed by boring game mechanics, go to next area, rinse & repeat.

I heard pvp in the Cyrodil Area (aka as Arena that's almost as big as the ones in Planetside 2) can be fun... Straight

You know, I tried to like it. I almost wasted a lot of $$$ on this but managed to play at a friends house just to check it out.

Nope, not gonna happen.

Just not.

Not much to be said on my part.

If I am to have a sunk cost fallacy paradigm on my mind as I play an mmo it better entice me to actually believe it and not wildly throw it like this game. But then again, I still honestly believe this game SHOULD NOT BE subscription based.

Even Wildstar has CREDD (that expires, but thats another issue) and this game dont?

Nope, pass.
