A keyboard with n-key rollover helps.

1) Place forehead on F1 key.
2) Roll forehead in rightwards motion across F1 - F12 keys.
3) Ensure drool has not harmed your keyboard.

im not sure its a good idea to trigger all smartbombs at the same time, if you trigger them in a stagger, you can cycle them all a few times, then cycle the cap boosters and get another 2 cycles off the SBs, that's assuming abbadons.

if you activate them very close to one another you gain nothing in terms of damage, and you lose the firewall effect against missiles and the new drones have some weird orbits making them orbit outside of SB range at the edge of their orbits.

In short, not being able to group them is helping bad pilots not screw up the whole fleet.

If smartbombs would only damage what is allowed by your safety setting and spare everything else, well, that would be smart of a bomb. Alas, those bombs aren't as smart as the name implies.

on most modern keyboards you can't,
because they only recognize four keys at a time.

You either pay up for better,
or cheat via software and get banned. (:

Good luck getting them all into the same server tick... :)

But I advise against this anyway.
Better to have them spread out a bit.

If you can press F1-F8 within one second, the smart bombs will all be synchronised. So either get an N-key rollover keyboard (even the cheaper "gaming" keyboard will support 10, over the "standard" keyboard 6KRO) or get a keyboard macro tool that will let you map a macro key to "F1" followed by "F2" etc, and find out how close you can time it.

Just be aware that getting all your SBs to fire at the same time is not necessarily a good thing.

Also useful with tractor beam/salvager racks on the Noctis. Remember to hold the Alt key for modules on the second line and Ctrl for modules on the third line.

this would get the OP banned for using macros to speed keyboard stroke on a single character..

To make sure OP is not banned activating 8 smart bombs at the same time, create 8 alts with each a smartbombing ship fit, and press F1 via IsBoxer.

The macro on a single character is banned as per the Eula, but the IsBoxer is not...What?

The technique you're looking for is called glissando, and it's not as easy as it looks. Luckily, as for most difficult skills, there are lots of youtube videos to help.

OK, that was pretty boring. So maybe look for some vintage Jerry Lee Lewis or Liberace videos. Who knows, you may forget all about smartbombing.

Simple keystroke macros will not get you banned. There is a grey area for keystroke macros with time delays (undock, warp to bookmark, target stuff, activate mining lasers), but to get banned you definitely have to have automation in there (which CCP seems to define as "the macro repeats itself" as the simplest case).

The most telling example is that you can use keystroke broadcasting to obtain in game benefit faster than simply alt-tabbing to each client and pressing the keys, but CCP doesn't consider this to be automation, even though every capsuleer and their camera drone can tell that having a fleet of ships firing weapons in perfect synchronicity is a very real advantage, which is why drone fleet doctrines were so popular, and why CCP nerfed drone assist to a maximum of 50 drones.

But I digress.

Hmm not so sure of this. I believe that using a macro that hits the F1 and F2 keys when you only press the F1 key is grounds for a ban. You are only allowed to duplicate keystrokes.

Of course if you are manually engaging such a macro, it would be borderline impossible for them to know if it's scripted or not.
