Hello there.
I am looking for some feedback on my Hyperion fit for lvl4 missions.

Hi: 6x425 Prototype Gauss and 1xDronelink I
Med: 2xFed navy omni (rangescripts) 1xafterburner II 2xtracking comps (trackingscripts)
Low: 2xdda II 2xmagstabs II 2xarmor harderners (mission specific) 1xlar II
Rigs: 1xnanobot 1xnanopump 1x aerator

Edit: 5xGarde II

All t2 except dronelink and guns.
Tanks 319dps
Drone dps 391
Gun dps 462
Cap lasts 2m12s

My skills

Except getting t2 guns is there anything obvious that I am missing?

probably not enough capacitor.

The fit that is on my hyperion - haven't used it for some time, drones and omnis have been changed since I last flew it.

6x425mm railgun II
drone link aug I (cpu issue)

1x Omni tracking link II
depending on mission, f-90 sebo or federation navy stasis webifier
1x tracking computer II
1x 100mn afterburner II
1x medium electrochemical capacitor booster (cap 800)

1x large armor repairer II
2x faction rat specific hardeners (think CPU was an issue)
3x federation navy magnetic field stabilizers
1x drone damage amplifier II

2x aux nanopump I
1x large hybrid metastasis adjuster II

5x garde II or 5x warden II or 5x bouncer II depending on mission
5x hobgoblin II

believe it might have been over 1100 dps, occasionally struggled with damage application.

Here's a basic cheap Hyperion fit, similar to Tauranons fit but with a heavy cap booster instead of a medium and a third hardener instead of another damage mod, the extra tank might be needed in harder missions (especially Angels because of the explosive hole) but you can switch it for a DDA if you find you don't need the extra tank. Faction hardeners are needed for CPU but they are very cheap at around 5-15 mil each, just buy a set of one of each. Once again you'll want to switch drones depending on the mission, Curators are good all rounders in terms of range, tracking and damage although their damage type isn't ideal against Serpentis/Guristas/Angels rats.

Why not use a Reactive Armor Hardener when you go and fly an armor BS? Adapts to damage types taken and since you seem to want a ranged fit you likely won't need any other hardeners, at max an EANM or something.

An AB fit battleship will drop its drones at the beacon and start shooting, AB is largely to avoid dying of old age when moving to the next gate.

IMO the hyperion has a lot of problems when you MJD it, starting with its base lock range, and also getting drones to reach. Its DPS is pretty unspectacular when out of drone reach - ie its not really a sniper, all 3 of us have proposed a fit with useful projection, but by no means a sniper fit that range tanks, and they would have to tank whatever damage can reach the beacon.

The other problem a hyperion has is CPU, and a faction eanm + reactive armor hardener is 54 cpu, and a pair of faction 55% hardeners with (usually better) racial tanking performance is 32. its also easier on cap, but that's probably not a problem for the cap booster fits.

As the hyper has a rep bonus, the main point in that decision is probably whether or not you have gallente battleship trained to 5.

T2 hardeners should be sufficent...

They won't fit... Too much CPU. Faction hardeners are cheap though

If you'd bothered reading the post, you'd see that I said that the faction hardeners are needed for CPU reasons or it won't fit. You can also drop the Drone Link Augmentor (not recommended) or use faction mag stabs (far more expensive).

Thanks for the feedback guys(girls). Pretty similar fits and not much variation to be seen, seems like the Hyperion is a pretty straight forward ship. I know my fit is low on cap, but the plan is to kill **** fast enough for it to be enough. I am more focused on application of the damage. Hence the Tracking comps.

Yeah, Cpu is a bit on the low side even with good skills but its not impossible to work around since you, for example, dont have any need for a DLA II, t1 is sufficient.

I'll have to work on my gunskills for this ship to perform at its best.

Cheers:)

My alts Hyperion fit is below and can solo Lvl 4's.

Highs: 6x 425mm, 1 dla

Mids: MJD, Sebo with range script, target painter, fill the rest of the slots with t2 cap rechargers

Lows: reactive armor hardener, t2 mission specific hardeners, t2 armor repairer, fill the rest of the slots with t2 mag stabs.

Rigs: 3x Cap Control Circuit rigs.

Drones: mission specific sentries with a flight of hobs for frigs.

Ammo, Antimatter (close range under 60km), Iridium (medium range, between 60km and 90km), Tungsten (to get the rats attention at over 100km)

Mission Tactic: Warp in at range or to beacon, MJD if at beacon but away from rats. Stop ship, drop sentries, paint and fire.

Kill Frigates/Destroyers first then Cruisers and up, but be warned of trigger from sites like eve survival.

To much cap focus for my taste. Dont you have problems with the damage projection on this fit? No omnis or tracking comps make me think that applied dps is a bit on the low side?

When I started using the above fit, my alt was low on gunnery skills and had passable drone skills.

The fit was intended for survivability rather than dps, but it could still clear a lvl 4 mission in less than 30mins.

You can swap out a cap recharger and the target painter for drone mods if you like, but at the end, the Hyperion is a gunboat not a Drone Boat.

In the end you'll be flying your Hyperion, not me and what you put on it will be your choice.
