The forums are a pathetic joke. You don't combine open source software with a programming group that had no ideal how to design or implement a proper user interface. They should have hired an outside firm to do the integration they wanted and paid for a license but they were too busy sucking eve profits and dumping them into sparkly vampire online. At least they finally staked that project.

Now they're stuck with these horrible forums and it doesn't look like they've done anything to fix the issue and I doubt they will. Bethseda, Steam, heck mmorpg.com have better running programs than CCP and I think its quite sad that CCP went the substandard joke route.

Firefox has this basic functionality, obviously. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs medical assistance.

I've used opera since probably '02 now and I find this incredibly surprising.
I knew firefox's market share was rather big, and i've frequently had to explain why it's nearly devoid of any perks the vast majority of the time - But had no idea opera's was so little.

…and S-classes are quite rare too.

Srsly, it works with ff8 with me, language is irrelevant, rightclicking on the text area will allow you to open the cached text to copypasta it right back after gankage.

not sure if it helps with ganks, but I found for those long post session timeouts all you need to do is have a 2nd forum tab open and just click a link in that tab and then post from the first

once you do anything in one tab it restores your session across all tabs for the site

A related frustration: the "We were ganked" error when opening a link in a new tab results in me only being able to refresh the static page. I have to close the tab and reopen it. Errors can be reported without corrupting the link in the address bar, allowing users to simply refresh the page and see the site.

Of course, then there's the thing where if you spend too long typing, the forums don't even have to be ganked: you click Post and you're treated to a refreshed view of the reply box, sans your reply. On some browsers, that's the end of everything you typed.

This is a case of someone reinventing the wheel when there were already great forum systems out there.

I use Chrome, and not once have I lost anything. Been ganked plenty of times. All I do is press the back arrow and bam, my rant has been returned.

Forum ganks are so very annoying even if i didnt write anything.

At least remember the url i was going to when you direct me to that piece of **** error page.

edit: jesus christ i just got ganked trying to go to page two on a thread, then pressed back and got ganked. had to find the thread again from general
