dual domi or dual ishtar?

Hello I run complexes in null guristas space. My current set up runs at 2200 dps if it very effective and fast. The only problem is one of the ships needs constant reps from the other.

It is a glass cannon 1400 dps BC with a paper tank I use a rr ham tengu for my alt to rep the BC.
I want something a little more laid back but close to the effectiveness of 2200 dps.

So would dual domis or dual ishtars be best? or one domi one ishtar? I want to stay close to 2k dps but not go extra bling fit.
what set up would be best? and what fits ? thanks

The base damage from drones alone (sentries) is about 700 DPS, so in order to get 2200 combined you'd have to squeeze 400 DPS each out of their secondary weapon system.

I have a hard time seeing that with a laid back non bling spider setup for either ishtars or dominixes.

EDIT: Probably possible with a pair of Rattlesnakes, though.

Are you losing ships in your current setup because if not why would you really want to change it?

Running sites in Ishtars isn't as laid back as it once was as it's fairly common for the rats to blap your drones these days.

Additionally CCP Rise posted this in answer to the question of what is next on rebalance passes:

I think very next thing for me is going back to Battleships and HACs for polish passes now that they've been out in the wild awhile and there's some room for improvements.

I can't be the only one for whom this reads as: We will be nerfing the Ishtar and Dominix, other things may also happen.

Reality has an almost infinite capacity to resist oversimplification.

no i have yet to lose a ship to rats or gank. *knock on wood. It's just one of my ships is glass cannon while the other handles the reps on it. Running talos / rr tengu set up with max skills i melt through things, but having to constant reps can be a problem in some sites.

Like the rock haven it can be ruff keeping the ships in range of each other and I have at times bounced off the rings in sanctums.
It is a wonderfully awesome set up the sites melt I get good ticks I think one I am bored of my set up and two I would like a set up where Reps do not need to be on 100% of the time. The talos is fit for pure dps with a paper tank. With the RR Tengu The talos never gets below 75% shield but will quickly get into armor without reps.

Ive been using 2 x Ishtars for running anoms in Angel space.

They are set up for RR shield and cap. This has an added benefit that the NPCs rarely target drones once the reps are running.

Can comfortably tank sanctums when orbiting your drones.

Main benefit for me is that once reps and drones are activated/assigned you only need to pay attention to one screen.

Total DPS output would be alot less than what you have currently.

The only real danger are the DED plexs with lots of webs or neuts although the neuts can be killed pretty quickly.

A modification of the fit for Guristas would be:

[Ishtar, RR shield Guristas]
Internal Force Field Array I
Imperial Navy Omnidirectional Tracking Enhancer
Federation Navy Drone Damage Amplifier
Federation Navy Drone Damage Amplifier
Federation Navy Drone Damage Amplifier

Omnidirectional Tracking Link II, Optimal Range Script
Pithum A-Type Thermic Dissipation Amplifier
Large Shield Extender II
Large Shield Extender II
Republic Fleet 10MN Afterburner

Drone Link Augmentor II
Medium 'Regard' Remote Capacitor Transmitter
Medium S95a Remote Shield Booster
Civilian Gatling Autocannon, Civilian Autocannon Ammo

Medium Core Defense Field Extender II
Medium Core Defense Field Extender II

Gecko x2
Warden II x5

On the secondary Ishtar the Civi gun can be swapped for a small RR armour rep for repairing drones.

You could also do something similar with two Eos with RR Armour
