Good for you. But have you ever considered the fact that there are other parts of the world where 20-30 EUR or USD is 1/10 - 1/20 of monthly fee?

What? What do you mean?

There are countries where 600 USD is monthly salary... Those players rather grind isk than pay by RL money....

Thats what I thought you meant

Probably be better off not spending that money on video games instead of more important things though

I know I didnt run my accounts when my income was below that

I keep hearing that at some point CCP will step in but how does that work?

ccp don't care about the price of plex, they care about the speed of the price change in plex.

Dude this is not about being poor.. Somewhere, 600 USD is enought to cover your monthly expenses + have some change for fun and living (for example food prices or monthly rents are much much lower than in western countries),, For us, paying 21 USD monthly for game is realy stupid investment. (Or paying 50-60,- EUR for new game) Thats why is there so much warez in eastern europe (or africa or asia). not because we like to be IT pirates, but because of the disproportion of prices for western / eastern countries compared to their monthly salary.

I didnt say anything about being poor. Infact, have agreed with you all the way through this.

And to be honest, my own income isnt exactly much different from that, and I live in the "west"

Typical ignorance and arrogance I would expect from someone like you.
I too "live in the west", but don't make value judgement calls on how people should live outside of Eve.

I make enough that paying for my subscription time with a credit card is the logical move, but I don't because of how I want to play the game.

You, on the other hand, think it is perfectly OK to tell someone how they should live and spend their money. CCP should be on its hands and knees kissing the feet of people like TharOkha's that are willing to either commit a large chunk of their real life income to their hobby, or conversely, spend increasingly large amounts of time grinding in-game to maintain said hobby.

Thank you

I meant no disrespect to you, and I can see how my first post could be misconstrued, and I take it back if it comes across as ignorant.

TigerXtrm is indeed arrogant.

But when Candles makes comments like "Probably be better off not spending that money on video games instead of more important things though", that is casting value judgements.

For which I apologised.

And your above statement is probably the most hypocritical thing I have ever had the misfortune to see you type.

250M in late 2009. They've gone up, and come down in price several times since then.

As with all commodities the price is driven by supply and demand. Demand is rising because PLEX now have more utility than they used to, people sat on PLEX that they bought at a cheaper price can bump the price point up due to the rise in demand.

TL;DR They're worth as much as somebody is willing to pay for them.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Kinda like how someone could make a value judgment by looking at their in game actions and then deciding to call them a LIBERTARIAN on a video game forum. Wanna know who was the last guy I saw do that?

The shadow you see behind you is a pot, if you look in a mirror, you will probably notice that you are a Kettle.

What Ramona said is true, if you make so little money (and need that money to do things like feed your family ), spending any amount on a video game is stupid.

Agreed, priorities. If my income ever gets low that I have to choose between eating or paying a bill and playing video games, eating / bill becomes priority.

I have an acquaintance in RL who does nothing but complain he has no money for food or his children new school clothes, his phone bill is always in debt and yet he still has enough money and time to play WoW, SWTOR, ESO and a multitude of other games. I am happy to report that this idiot doesn't play Eve. If that's me wrongly judging someone, you need a head check Din Din (meant in the nicest possible way obviously).

As for Plex prices. Woo time to sell all those Plex I hoarded on the market, oh wait... I don't own any Oops

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."
