Help! My monitor is dying as we speak. Large tracts of black/white/magenta are spreading around the screen. Looks freaky, and at this rate will render the monitor totally fubar in possibly hours :(

Can anyone who has recently purchased a monitor give recommendations? Probably 23 or 24 inches (but I could treat myself to larger), 16:9 or 16:10. I guess a TN panel, but maybe not? I'd like a decently low input lag / high refresh rate for twitch shooters, but I'd also like nice vibrant colours :). Viewing angle isn't a factor, and I don't care about 3D.

Wow, I can see the corruption creep around the monitor as I type this.

Anyone recently purchased a gaming monitor? Your advice would be very welcome.

I got a new HP monitor a few months back. It does this weird thing where it flips out once or twice a day and needs to be rebooted. Apparently its a common problem with them, at least it was easy to find lots of folks with the same problem when I googled it.

Would stay away from HP.

Easily the BenQ 24" 3D LED XL2411Z and while I personally wouldn't bother with it, it is one of the most popular ones because it is affordable and quite good. If you are in Sweden, Komplett.se is running a campaign on it until midnight.
