My bad, didn't read the entire thread Oops

Thanks for the correction, now that I have that information I have the opportunity to post an Einstein quote, or 3.

Really?

Thats surprising. Eve Who says 283 Corps and 11,187 members at the moment. Even if they all had the same number of members each, that's still 39 members per Corp.

Goonwaffe seems to have 2,807:

http://evewho.com/alli/Goonswarm+Federation/corplist

yes thankyou for providing this information. i have learned a lot today. in retrospect, it seems rather obvious that the largest corporation in goonswarm federation would have more than six members. a little too obvious.

Then why over state the obvious? Ohhh......nvm shat posting as always.

Carry on then.

i hate to explain jokes

It's not as if there aren't a half dozen Goonswarm corps that do openly recruit from the general EVE community. People just see the biggest one and go "oooh shiny" without bothering to check anything.

my original reply was to this post. the op explains in the first post he wasn't trying to join goonwaffe, he was trying to join a six-member corp. i'm just having fun counting the posts that criticise the op for not googling goonwaffe recruitment or not knowing that goonwaffe recruits from an outside community when they're showing at the same time they didn't read the post they're criticising.

that's it. that's the joke. hahaha.

Man this forum post has really become popular, so glad people got some type of happiness or joy out of my mistake and ignorance. Everyone is right I should have googled it, for future corporations that I may join I will.

When I applied to Northstar Cabal my contact there told me that a corp jump freighter would move all my stuff from Jita to nullsec. I thought, "hahahahah, like I'd fall for that." Turns out it was completely true. I could have trusted them with my worldly possessions, on the other hand, I didn't lose anything by being cautious.

Now I'm not sayin' I'm smarter than OP, but I'm not sayin' he's very smart either.

Joke is on him if it is Preencleeve again. Still.
Kid seems to be interested in politics (he's a youth mayor or some such) - I don't know how he thinks an easily-linked online persona attached to threats, harassment and fraud (no, I'm not talking about in-game actions) will shake out for him when he tries to move beyond ceremonial positions and blogging, but as a personal word of advice - I suggest you leave the creepy online alter-ego behind you and try to make something of your real life.

Do you actually believe this horseshit? Or is this some kind of RP?

If by horseshit then you mean truth? Then yes, the only kind of people that play a video game for the sole purpose of ruining someone else's experience are the kind of people that have ****** lives in real life, like Goons.

You know, I've encountered real and i mean real life actual bad people in my life (and not just due to my job, when i was a kid there was an actual honest to God cross burning near where I lived) and I'm not butt hurt enough about it to sling 2nd grade insults from behind the double anonymity of an npc corp alt on a video game forum lol.

Goons are not magic, you're playing a video game with guns, if you don't like them stop being rather....feline.... about it and kill them if you don't like them. I do .

Lets see, you call what I said a 2nd grade insult. (thats a 2nd grade insult in itself, so good job with being a hypocrit!), you talk about insults from behind the double anonymity of an npc corp alt (this is actually my main, I just don't want to dedicate myself to a corp and like flying solo, and also anyone on the internet hides behind anonymity or have you just discovered this magical thing called the interwebs?)

You say I should just go shoot the Goons... sure, do you even play EvE? Goons might all be scummy douchebags but they have numbers and experience and isk on their side. Just because someone can't physically (virtually?) fight doesn't make their voice and opinion less valid, Goons are scum and it's that simple, there is years of evidence to support this. Whether they hide behind the veil of "it's just a video game" or "we're just RPing bad guys" it doesn't really matter.

Well most of us are pretty rich in real life & don't work anymore, but I guess keep telling yourself whatever makes you feel good.

Sure, kid. Anyone that actually calls them self rich over the internet obviously isn't. And even if you do have money, posting about it to try and defend yourself shows how much of a insecure douchebag you are in real life that you have to grief in a video game to get your kicks.

Ingame persona != real life persona

Contrary to popular belief Goons do have parents, families, next of kin. Lets keep the hate in game and not make it personal.

I hate Goons, but I don't HATE Goons. Its a difference but an important one.

One side has me shooting at their ships, and the other side would have me up a clock tower with a high powered rifle.

OP was scammed, shock horror. It happens, learn the lesson, make isk, hire mercs, collect bodies, move on.

Created, for yourself, a motive for the group? Check
Create a faux-morale tirade against said fabricated position? Check

Is this your job application for Fox News, buddy?

That said it's kinda funny when NPC alts lean back on "must be no-bodies in real life" argument, when many GSF figures of any note are/were lawyers, doctors, engineers, senior diplomats or high-level IT guys.

It's also dumb because if you want to play the game of real-life assumptions, it ends up poorly for you buddy. Which one is more normal:

Person A, scams in a game that specifically advertises and encourages scamming
Person B, cries and throws his hands around, and insults people for playing a game in a different way to him.

If we're playing the "must be X in real life" game - then I posit you are 5 years old, perhaps 6? Not sure when temper tantrums over playing games is meant to phase out on average.
