Maybe it's mental illness, but I get songs that I havent listened to in ages stuck in my head. They tend to be the most annoying songs of all.

For example:

What I Am - Edie Brickell

I Know What Boys Like -The Waitresses

Whip It - Devo

They just keep playing over and over again. Someone please help end the torment. Sad

You could start by not thinking about them and not creating threads about them.

"Earworm" is a literal translation from Geman "Ohrwurm", which is the word they had to create for this song.

True Story. Blink

Q: Should we be worried? A: Nope. (...) Worry a lot if Fozzie, Masterplan, Rise, Veritas, Bettik, Ytterbium, Scarpia, Arrow, or even Greyscale leaves. Worry a little if Punkturis, karkur, SoniClover, Affinity, Goliath, or Xhagen leaves.

Lisa's protest song.
Stuck in my head for 3 days now....

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

I once listened these at "labor day" before night shift and I got fragments of these playing in my head for the rest of the night.

It's lonely alone in the shift so I kept my self entertained humming the songs while working, I'm just glad no one else was there to listen.

You beat me to it Matilda! Well played and I am glad I read the thread first Big smile

As for me I can not specifically recall any songs that habitually get stuck in my head.

So I will leave you all with one that usually gets stuck in many peoples heads .

Oftentimes when I'm doing a mind numbingly boring task, the bass line from Zeppelin's "How many more times" will get stuck in my head. Over and over and over again. Also got stuck there back when I used to run.... around the second or third mile it would start and stay there until I finished the run.

This is not a bad thing, btw, just kinda weird how it seems to be hardwired into me....

May I have your stuff?

Sometimes the equipment on the commuter train I ride makes a kind of metallic quavering sound. It sounds just like a little part of a guitar solo-- the same notes, rhythm and duration. It really bugged me for a while trying to place what solo it was from, but eventually I got it-- Led Zeppelin "Since I've Been Loving You."

So now, once or twice a week during the commute, that sound suddenly pops out, ambushes me, and gives me a Jimmy Page guitar solo earworm. I'm trapped having to ride an earworm train, with no way to escape....

Dead Milkmen - "There's a little man in my head, and he's drunk all of the time"

It's been stuck in my head for a couple of decades now, it comes and goes at random times - I mean the song, specifically the opening verses, the drunken man has been stuck in my head for twice as long.
