Gate/Station Guns

My idea is to make guns go back to how they used to be. the way it is now you may as well get rid of the guns all together.

Back to how they used to be? Do you mean in regards to attacking drones? Or some other change I am unaware of?

I got blapped by station guns once when I was a noob, I haven't made the same mistake again so I don't know how guns are supposed to behave today or if they have changed at all since I started in 2007.

I know you can tank them in a group and fly off to deaggro etc. but other than that I have no idea what the OP means.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

Oh I haven't the foggiest on that one. He believes that it might of saved him or something along those lines would be my guess.

well for people that did not know how guns used to work . i suggests that the guns operate the way they used to. so the warping off and coming back and aggression again will stop the guns to continue to shoot ene logi dont get shot any more making it way to easy to prate. i remember when i used to go through low sec and all you would see is bc and bs no all you see are instalocking frigs with a few cruzers and logie

and they will save you if you account for gun dps which is 150 dps of omni damage so a lot of things wont engage, frigs des cuzers even bc.

For reference Mag...

Gate and Station guns used to shoot at someone who went GCC/Suspect near a gate or station... and then that person would be shot at by ALL gate and station guns regardless of where they warped to until the timers ran out.


How it now works is...

- gate and station guns will shoot at you if you go GCC/suspect near a gate or station
- if you warp to another gate or station then those guns will not fire upon you.
- if you warp out and then warp back to the same gate or station the guns will not fire upon you unless...
--- you engage a new neutral
--- the timers from the previous engagement have run out.


What this means for pirates/outlaws is that they can engage someone... warp off... then warp back in to the same place and finish off the target (if they are still there) without suffering gate gun fire (unless they engage a new target).
And no... gate/station guns will still not engage drones. Twisted

Yea I'm aware of that change. But have only played a couple of times since it's introduction. Which is why I forgot to mention it.

Still don't see the problem tbh.

Oh and the drone change was asked for by me in the first 'little things' thread forth reply. I kinda feel attached to that. Big smileOops

The changes to gate gun mechanics was one of the best things to happen in LowSec in many a year.

Not supported.

Actually CCP decided that players should provide more of their own protection and not rely on hand holding mechanics.

You do realise the irony of your statement? Because it just so happens to be all I've seen you ask for, in both this and the other bad idea thread you created. Both times you ask for NPC hand holding mechanics to be increased.

Why is that? Do you not know how to play the game, with the tools already provided?

There are several solutions to your problem if you took the time to consider the tools CCP has already given you.

While nothing in EvE is 100% certain to work they are reasonably efficient solutions that should minimise your risk and don't require the nerfing of an entire area of space.

If you aren't prepared to engage with the game and take the time to look after your own security but instead must run to the forums demanding CCP solve your problems for you I feel the loss is yours.
