Launcher goes "Not Responding" when I click on it

Windows 7 64bit

Launcher was working last week.

Now, the Launcher comes up, works for 1 or 2 seconds, then "Not Responding". Seems to maybe occur when I click on the window.

I tried to clear the Eve Cache manually, with no effect.

Any suggestions?

I ran the "Repair Tool". The Launcher gets to about 54% of verifying client and then the Launcher dies again.

I used the repair tool, it still locks up on me. So I decided to run it directly. Now it needs an update today and surprise, surprise, it's NOT able to update for some reason. This is getting frustrating. Could we declare the launcher a failure and go BACK to how Eve used to start, namely upon launching, it went right to game? This is really ticking me off. How am I supposed to get an update when the launcher fails? And I REALLY don't want to download the entire game again when I have a fairly slow connection (3 MBS download).

I'm running Windoze 8.1. Being the OP is running Windows 7, it appears it isn't operating system related.

If anyone knows how to fix this, I would appreciate it. That launcher is a VERY bad idea.

run repair tool to download and install game updates
then run ccp/eve/bin/exefile.exe
this will bypass the launcher and launch the client

I have a very simiar issue:

The launcher freezes completly after evry patch

i'm REALY miss the old stuff.
