But when I multibox, I control my chars individually as I believe multiboxing software is essentially botting because you control one char and then rely on third party software to control the others, lets face it if that's not botting then what is.

ummm, how about actual botting? ISBoxer is different because it DUPLICATES INPUT, instead of a bot program which CREATES INPUT, basically its the difference between issued coammands originating with an original player action, or commands originating from a program deciding based on automated criteria.
What if instead of duplicating a series of commands over different clients the program instead repeated them over time to the same client. The specific commands would need to be entered at the beginning of each session of course, but in the end it would only be time delayed duplication of inputs. Would that be ok?

I do not need to be liked to be right. ISBoxing IS a problem, stating that CCP will not do anything about it because they are greedy and only care about money will not STOP making it a problem.

Also, maybe not per post (as some of you love to spam your irrelevant nonfactual bias) but per player I'd say more people are saying its a problem than not.

Oh no, a company worrying about their bottom line, especially after reporting a loss.....OH THE HUMANITY

the only people who complain about isboxer are the same people who need to step up their own game. Because if you died to one dude in 10 ships you probably would of died to 10 dudes in 10 ships the same way.

you still have to input the commands for bots, you just do it once and let the software take over, with ISBoxer you input the commands, let the software take over and then wait until you need to change the commands.

so essentially ISBoxer is a bot that allows you to input the commands more regular. Whichever way you look at it you are relying on third party software to control in game events.

I have never been killed by an ISBoxer. I don't like them because they affect the in game economy which affects everyone in game, including you.

More strictly, bots store input and play it back later whereas isoboxer stores input and plays it back immediately.

From a technical point of view its games-lawyer nit picking to distinguish between them.

The main complaints about isoboxer ? It destroys immersion seeing clone fleets moving like in an Esther Williams movie. It encourages solo play. it gives a perceived "unfair advantage" (this is debatable).

Should it be banned? Who knows? If isoboxed catalyst and 'nado suicide ganks and gatecamps become more common maybe. Currently, probably not.

Multiboxing is nothing like botting.

For example a mining bot you just create bookmarks, set up your overview and the bot does the rest. No player input is necessary unless it gets hung up. You can set a bot up, go fishing, take a nap then come back and it's still working.

With multiboxing it only does what you tell it. If you go AFK it's just like going AFK when you're not multiboxing.
