Will it be common now that portraits take a day to update?

You can't see your portrait? Do you have any idea how much I *wish* I couldn't see mine?

You actually have a pretty cool portrait.

I just thought I'd pop in here since I'm having the same issue.

You're pretty. <3 :)

Same problem here. None of my characters' portraits have updated today. I've logged in and out and cleared the cache, to no avail.

And the portrait delivers as the name let me expect.... <3

Cool

I saw your portrait in another thread, the 'what are you listening to today' in OOPE, and noticed how we have same background and I'm not the only one whose portrait seems a little bit... extra dreamy?

did you notice this too? Just curious if someone else is noticing the same thing. I don't know what your portrait looked like before.

no troll. i just replied to my support ticket and asked if any settings were changed on the portrait server (you know, the one that goes through and generates them)

I'm having a hard time believing my eyes--I don't recall portraits ever looking this good

Tracy had no portrait at all.

Oh and I noticed the effect you seem to be describing ... the background seems to affect you.

this is amazing!

I've looked through all of my characters whose avatars I updated during the outage (coincidentally), and they all just...

they're amazing!

really curious to know if some changes were made in the rendering settings.

What are you talking about?

Can you give some insight?

I'm still comparing old avatar captures to the new ones, and I thought maybe it was AA (anti aliasing) but I can't be sure. just that something's different. The avatar server that generates our portraits one by one is going to have some graphic settings, just like our clients do, and lower settings would mean a shorter generate time per avatar. so maybe it was bumped up to produce a better picture, at the cost of more server load.

see for yourself.

before

after

it just doesn't look like the quality of the portrait server I've come to know

it could be that I just made a better choice of backgrounds, and the green and orange and red make a better color composition than the solid backgrounds I used before.

//the day rain went crazy and wouldn't stop raving about the portrait server

What you're experiencing is color psychology and how it affects your sense.

I don't see any differences between the images,
besides the background,
which obviously affects the overall image..

I strongly suggest you learn more about how colors affect the general population
without them realising it.

Then you'll find proper awareness of your experience.

That being said... My portraits aren't updating again.
