Is what a Warbarge should be.

I didn't know which would be a better place to put this, here or on the Project: Legion forums.

5 Highs
6 Mids
4 Lows

Can fit Capital Bombardment Turret (only useful for providing Orbital Strike)

Requires Skills for Industrial Command Ships and Command Ships.

Any other thoughts?

Since it is a bad thing to just shoot ideas down I will point out why yours is bad.

It is not polished at all, the ship has no role void to fill and there are no specifics.

You could just call it a warbarge or something? There already is a T2 Orca, it's called a Rorqual.

Well it isn't polished because I was hoping that maybe some of the other Eve players who are keeping an eye on Project Legion might want to help brainstorm.

I was simply starting a framework.

Also, the role void that it fills is one created by Dust/Project Legion, however, said role void basically necessitates that it be filled in Eve (since the Warbarge is supposed to be in orbit over the District and not in the District itself).

So thank you for your opinion, anything constructive to add?

Well, I never really looked at the Rorq as being a T2 Orca, I thought it was simply a T1 Capital Industrial Ship....

I would orient a T2 Orca concept toward deep exploitation and exploration.

It could deploy a "bastion style" mode that would transform it to a small pos, with the guns, defense and storage space according to modules fit choices on the ship.
Would have a bigger ship carrying bay, and would accept battleship size (possibly black ops only)
It would have its own strontium bay. When invulnerability is ended, it would revert to a ship, with all disabled components being burnt out (like in overheating)
As a ship, It would keep, the same mass as the T1 Orca.
It could be bridged by a black ops battleship using isotopes from its own. Bay.
In POS mod it would have a cloning facility for a limited number of clones, even in WH
Yeah, I know....

This would be my dream T2 orca.
It should be named The Whale.

A ship that could anchor and have a reinforce timer if it gets nuked?

That sounds interesting as hell as long as it can't unanchor until after it has been repaired back up after RF timer.

--Edit--

Not a deathstar, just a utility ship with maybe minor defense capabilities.

Yes, so if it has two or three turrets, those would be the gun defense of the POS once deployed.
Unlike regular POSes nobody could add extra pos modules, it would be pretty much like Transformers in my mind...
The defenses would also be according to the modules fitted, so a boost to shield or resistance would replace a possible jammer, or a scram, and so on....

For a Warbarge or Troop transport ship I would recommend a Destroyer hull.

5 Frig Hulls
2 Dyst Hulls
5 Cruiser Hulls

Also, in the Prophecy Video it showed a troop transport transporting DUST 514 Clones.
From someone that is risk adverse and dropped lots of OB's i would recommend not an expensive Orca Hull.

Deep Exploration / medium between a Rorqual and Orca would be a happy place for this idea! :-)

Well, to start a discussion you should outline the role a bit more supported with some traits, just throwing a few slot numbers out there won't do anything.

Like 2 high slots mean nothing if you can have only 2 turrets, but what if they got 800% hybrid damage? And if they do, how about only enough PG to be able to only fit a two small turrets ? Get my point ?

A description of the role it should play comes first, supported with a few trait ideas .. and you go from there until it sounds worth discussing. Its like saying 'hey I want to design a great new car and it should have 4 wheels .. anyone else ?' So, what type should it be, what features should it have ... and why do we need it ?

And as a small side note an Orca is an Industrial Command Ship ... in regards to weapon platform, you can read right ?

I believe there is already a t2 Orca thread out there from this or last week, try to join that.

Edit: Ah and forgot, I believe they already announced a T2 Orca but not much about the specifics.

Instead of an orbital cannon, give it a mini-doomsday that deals 100k damage to the target with a 3-5min cooldown.

The Orca is my favorite ship in the game.

The "Whale" sounds fun as well.

But the ship you were describing really sounds like another class of ship entirely. Perhaps don't even bother with the "T2 Orca" title. I guess trying to drum up conversation about new ideas isn't a bad thing, though. What are some specifics you had in mind other than what you have listed already? What gave you the idea this was needed? This could be a start.

t2 orca should be able to fit a orbital bombardment subsystem that add her additional high slots for orbital strike lasers. drawback , ship lose 95% speed loses 50% agility and capacitor capacity is reduced 25% as orbital strike lasers could take majority of ship energy to operate. without this subsystem it could be able to operate as remote tracking computer, remote sensor booster etc. to boost other ships in fleet

Stop calling it a T2 Orca, it is totally unrelated to combat. And, wow, a speed and agility reduction is really how to restrict and 'balance' one of the slowes and unagile ship sub capitals (an Orca basically stands still 99.99% of the time anyway) ... shows really how much you know the game.

Please close and reopen under a new topic and call it something like "Legion support vessel concept" or "orbital support/bombardement ship wanted" ... or whatever. This has nothing to do with the Orca nor the need to be T2, every post quoting or naming it thus is in neglect of the game mechnics, lore and developement process, ship design, you name it ...

If you really want to discuss a T2 Industrial Command ship, be my guest and join one of the existing ones or create a new one if its not redundant. I got something to suggest there too, so feel free.

And I'd like my prowler to be like the ones out of "Farscape", but a blockade runner taking out a carrier might just be OP.

Okay, now I have my initial position established, I'm prepared to negotiate down to something more sensible.

Why not a Black Ops version of the Orca for the new Prospect frigate?

As to the refitting service, tractor depots have made the Noctis somewhat redundant, so it could have an ORE faction or T2 version that has the fitting service and a charge bay to carry ammunition. Needless to say, it would need a lot more tank.
